Jacob’s POV, “I don’t know what’s going on, but Sadie and her parents are on there way back now.” Doctor Kim sat me down and told me. We had to be there when they released her to me at the police station where they would be arrested for leaving with her. Sadie had a lot of talents but mind control was not one of them. I was confused but happy at the same time. I couldn’t wait to get my girl back. “Just understand this. Even though Sadie’s parents bring her back. We still have to prove that Sadie is not crazy and can cope in this world without help.” I understood what the doctor was saying, but as long as I had Sadie I knew this was all going to work out.

She gathered her books and headed out, ready to enjoy the rest of her day. “Ouch,” Saraya muttered as a student bumped into her. She felt a sting but ignored it when he quickly said sorry and walked away. Curious, she glanced at his back but couldn’t see his face. Just then, Vidhant mind-linked her, reminding her, I’m waiting in the parking lot. After the marking, Saraya had developed the ability to communicate through mind-link, and she smiled at the thought. On my way, she replied silently, turning toward the exit.

I said. His aura was changing and I could feel the power rising in him as Typhon blew his breath into Link’s face. He would feel the connection with the lair very soon as all those bonds snapped into place. I could also feel them unsnapping from me and it hurt, like they all died, one after the other. When I opened my eyes back in the office, Link lay on the floor and I didn’t feel the lair’s connection anymore. I was still a Sire though, I’d always be a Sire, it was in my blood, I just wasn’t anybody’s Sire anymore.

Jared chuckled. "Don’t be so cocky." He lifted the chains higher. "One wrong move, one wrong word, and I snap this life thread. Then you and your mate can die together." My breath hitched. "What do I do?" I whispered through the mind-link. "If I attack, Drake could—" "Aim for his heart." Drake’s voice was steady. "It’s his weak spot."

Sarah cuts in as she walked into the dining hall “I'm sorry I burst into your conversation, I just can't have her talk about Luna like that and keep quiet. She is too good to be treated like some trash or be talked about by some disrespectful wolf,” “And who are you?” Sarai asked “I am Sarah one of the assigned maids of Luna,” she responded with pride “I can see you are so proud of your title,” Beatrice mocked “Yes, I'm very proud of it because who I answer to is a calm person who knows the difference between wrong and right. She treats others rightly and will defend me anywhere. Just as she will with anyone else,”

It says touch me at your own risk.” She giggles, biting her lip, holding the fabric against her skin in front of the mirror. Her reflection stares back—flushed cheeks, wide eyes, breath catching in her throat. She looks… different. Bold. Dangerous.
