“You are tiresome, Guardian,” said the Lightning Bird. He even looked different now, thought Ilyria. He seemed taller, he strode toward Thassa with his wings semi-extended, his chin lowered. Fearsome, she thought, he looks fearsome.
Yet still she was not afraid.
“Astrapi,” she said, stepping between Thassa and the Lightning Bird. Astrapi, she reminded herself. Not Lightning Bird. “Stop.”
