The Siren's Scion
Liam stood frozen, his face a pale mask of confusion and dawning horror, taking in the impossible scene: Elara, alive and defiant; me, a terrifying ghost of anger; and Aunt Cordelia, holding a ritual dagger over the bed.
"What... what in God's name is this?" he stammered.
"Liam, thank God!" Cordelia cried, her voice shifting seamlessly from fury to panicked victim. "The spirit! It's taken full control of Elara! This is a trick, a vile illusion! We must complete the ritual now, before it's too late!"
Elara looked from Liam's lost expression to Cordelia's triumphant, sneering face.
