POV: Luna The Great Hall buzzed with returning students. Fifth years greeting friends. Fourth years showing off summer transformations. Third years trying to look confident. Second years still excited about everything. First years terrified and trying to hide it. I stood with my pack near our usual table. The one we'd claimed three years ago. The one that had become ours through survival and choice and refusing to let anyone take it. "Three different couples broke up over summer," Nova announced, surveying the room with practiced gossip analysis. "Two rival packs almost went to war over territory disputes. And apparently there's a new dueling club that's supposed to be incredibly exclusive."

That's so sweet. Anyways, today we are going to decide on what club we are going to join. Frey, Sammy, Yassi, and I are currently standing in front of the bulletin board, thinking about what club we are going to chose. "Should we go to a drama club?" Frey asks, wondering. "Oh god, that club is so difficult. I don't know how to act." Sammy disagrees. "How about it? Let's just stay in our past club which is a cooking club?" Yassi suggested. Frey and Sammy disagree with her instantly.

Clash battles usually dictate the game; specially if the structure of claim was not really supported by the warrant and data presented. Whoever is better at opposing the argument, that's the real debate winner. "Ready, Meredith?" Cherry asked before leaning over to show me her smile. I laughed before nodding, "I was suddenly excited, Che. I suddenly had a way to finish this mock debate, beautifully." Then, I handed her the paper on which I had placed my predicted questions to be thrown by the other side. "You manipulative bitch. You're really an empath, aren't you?" Cherry teased me before she handed the paper to Gelo after reading what I put there.

She heard him say. The girl sitting on a large sofa laughed cheerfully as if something funny was displayed on the screen and the other guy snaked his arm around her shoulders and pressed her head on his chest. The other two guy, one with thick-rimmed eyeglasses pointed something on the screen to the buff guy wearing green. "They are sort of a club. A Drama club. In school." Slidell placed a plate of cake on her direction before sitting opposite. "It's on me," he said with a wink.

The girl has never cursed a day in her life, I think I may be somewhat of a bad influence. Why the hell does that make me feel proud? “I me-me-mean, the girl Damien is seeing is an air elemental in his sparing class, and he pretty much announced she’s his mate so he wasn’t going to leave her!” “Where’s the ass-face?” “No one has seen him or his new,” She sneers. “girlfriend since his announcement.” 10mins after everyone has settled down Mr Fiddler and a group of teachers saunter into the room and onto the raised platform where two desks and chairs are aligned horizontally on opposite sides. The desks are for teachers who act as judges for this week’s debate.

Students formed up in clusters; some are trying to get the entire syllabus in their heads at the last minute, while some were busy inscribing answers on places that are… well, not ideal. “Zella! Hey, Zella, over here!” It was Chloe, a girl from my chemistry class with perfectly coiled braids and a smile that never quite reached her mind. Beside her was Ben, the debate team captain who loved the sound of his voice, and Mia, who mostly just agreed to whatever the last person said. “We saved you a spot,” Chloe informed, patting the empty chair in their little circle. “Figured we could, you know, psych each other up. You always seem so calm about this stuff.”

Men like Killian Dreven didn't waste time on women unless there was something in it for them. "What kind of business?" I asked. "The profitable kind." I raised an eyebrow. "That's not really an answer." "No, it's not." He seemed amused by my reaction. "But it's the only one you're getting right now." "Mysterious." "I prefer strategic." A waiter walked by with champagne, and Killian grabbed two glasses, offering me one. "To strategic mysteries," I said, raising my glass. "To new beginnings," he countered. We clinked glasses, and I took a sip. The champagne was expensive, the kind that went down smooth and left you wanting more.

Tonight. I maneuvered away, letting the music mask the tension. But Emma noticed. Her lips curved, her group parted. Before I could think, she was strutting toward me, heels clicking. “Look who decided to show up,” she sneered. “A party? Shouldn’t you be at home practicing your speech for tomorrow’s debate?” one friend added. Yes, I had a debate competition to prepare for tomorrow, which was organized by the school’s debate club, but I also deserve some fun, and what I have been through with the school so far, i deserve to have one.

She wore a black leather jacket over a simple shirt, her hair pulled back tight. She looked calm, almost bored and that made me angrier. I clenched my fists. I could feel my mates watching from the front row. Ethan’s blue eyes locked on me, steady and worried. Luca sat straight, arms crossed. Dante leaned forward and Eli fidgeted with his phone, probably recording everything. An elder stepped to the microphone first. “This debate will decide the future direction of our packs. Luna challenges the Omega’s place. Raven Blackthorne defends tradition. Each speaks for ten minutes. Then questions from the crowd. No interruptions. Begin.”

“Hush. It’s fine. You’re gonna get through this, okay? I’m here, we’re here to help you, right, boys?” Alvin chuckled and hugged me, too. “Yeah, even though, Dulce and I just got married two months ago, we’ve been attending class on how to be a good parent, so maybe we can help a bit,” he said, “Well, there’s Almira and Alexander that has more experienced.” He laughed while Almira’s hitting him. “Aww! S-stop, Almira!” “You freak! Shut up!” “Hey, Alexander, I know you’re disappointed but at least pretend that you’re happy for me,” I joked then the two stopped and act serious but Alexander’s emotion remained cold.
