I didn't think it was real.” Scott said, putting up his hand defensively. “I have never been told that or heard of a pack made of unwanteds. Maybe he is just using it as a way to scare us.” Garold said, turning back around.

Its wood was rotting, vines crawling over the walls. Looked and saw a disturbing number of crows perched along the broken fence. I stopped quickly, taking a closer look. My eyes widened. They didn't look like the normal crows you see. They looked strange. Each one had three eyes. One set into their foreheads, blinking slowly as they turned to watch me. Fear crawled up my spine. “They will not harm you,” the woman said calmly. “They are our ancestors. They see what others cannot. They warn us of danger.”

The rays of sunlight were slowly creeping into her room through the window as she walked to the windows to bring down the curtains. She yawned and held the curtains as she saw a scarecrow outside the compound they shared with the kids in the neighborhood who were still building the scarecrow as a crow flew and perched on its head. "Of course! Tomorrow is Halloween! They are getting prepared" She studied the scarecrow and for a second, she thought that the scarecrow moved its head and was staring at her now. She flinched and moved backward. That was when she noticed that one of the kids was at the back of the scarecrow and was adjusting its head.

“Splendid!” The tall scarecrow walked on toward Town Hall, with his long, awkward stride. It was Mrs. Belfry who had brought the strange creature to Lilith’s Hollow. He was once human but nutty as a loon. It was a curse that transformed him into the scarecrow and, as calculated correctly by the witch, saved his sanity. The citizens of the town took him in with the same kindness and acceptance they showed to all new creatures.
