I ask immediately. Carson sighs and shakes his head. I feel fear like never before begin to cripple my heart. My hands start shaking violently. My heart begins to beat ten times faster than its normal pace. “Where the fuck is my Mate," I yell, gripping Carson by his shirt. “Calm down Alena, he is fine...at least physically," Carson informs me. I release his shirt a little bit, but not completely. “If he is fine, why the fuck didn't he come with you guys."

“You have us here now. Is this about the deal my father stole from you? If that’s what you wanted, taking my family wasn’t the way to get it.” He chuckled, stepping forward. Ryker growled low in warning, but Alastair only grinned. “You’re the one who killed my advisor, aren’t you?” he asked, directing his gaze toward Ryker. “I should be angry about that. But honestly? He was long overdue. Consider that a favor you did me.” That’s when it truly hit me—Alastair wasn’t like the enemies we’d faced before. He wasn’t driven by power, revenge, or any rational goal. He was pure madness. A creature with nothing to lose, and that made him the most dangerous kind of monster.

He was so gentle in every step to avoid waking up Madison’s father. “Ah! Ghost!” Aleister shouted after being startled. It is dark and only the moon serves light inside the house. Aleister got startled after Madison’s father, who is standing in the kitchen, flashes a light towards him. “Ghost? What kind of vampire believes and is scared of ghost?” Roberto jokingly asked. “Ah sir, I’m sorry I’m just startled. Why are you still awake?” “Why? Can’t I be awake at this hour inside my own house?”

It was taking too much of me to stand straight before him, but I did my best. My jaw tightened as I came face-to-face with Alastor. He was floating in the air, and I could see his demon form, except that his skin was not entirely black like King Lucius, but that didn’t make him less terrifying. ‘Do not give him an idea you are my female.’ I blinked to send this mindlink to Thalia. I had no idea if Alastor knew that shifter’s eyes would fleck with whites when we connected with other minds, and at the moment, I didn’t want to put anyone in danger. So I shut off my mindlink as soon as I sent the message to my female.

Harlow growled and transformed into a large gray Lycan. Alastair grinned with a crooked smile. “Baby, I was already in hell.” He transformed into a black Lycan standing 6 ft 8”. His head nearly touched the hanging chandelier. Using shadow magic, I trapped Alastair’s feet to the ground. Black shadows gripped his ankles in place, enough to give Harlow an opening. At super speed, Harlow shredded Alastair’s body. Though his feet were bound, Alastair’s hands were still free. His hand swung faster and slammed Harlow’s body into the wall. We were too late to see it.

My heartbeat slows down as he walks ahead lazily. Aleister lets out a loud growl again. I gasp, shifting my attention to him. The darkness gathers around him. If he looked scary before, he looks monstrous now. I think about getting up and saving myself but I don’t get the time. As expected, when he truly wants to finish something he will appear like a Grim Reaper, ready to take the soul without a care. A scream erupts from my mouth as he skips past the distance. For a second, I believe that this is the end. He won’t spare me now.

He looked like he was slowly losing his mind. "What do you want from me? Let me go!" I screamed but the man only laughed. As if on cue, the evil Alpha walked into the room. His laughter echoed inside the room and merged with the mad scientist's. He came to a stop over my bed and looked down at me. "I told you was going to uncover the secrets of your vampire blood and I will use it to my advantage. I will use it to conquer the world," he stated. I started crying again. "Why won't you just leave me alone? Leave me! Let me go! Let me go!" I screamed.

“What in the name of the Lord?” I shake my head in disbelief. What sorcery is this? Sister Abbie said this belonged to my parents…but just who were my parents? An owl hoots and I jump a little. The leaves around me rustle too as if an animal lurks behind the trees of something. My imagination starts to run wild, what if a tiger or lion attacks? Or even worse, what if creatures from the underworld like werewolves and vampires come? I slap myself on the face. “Get a grip of yourself, Alisa!” I hiss. “You are a child of light! You are…oh wait…you’re not. You’re a succubus.”

“What the hell was that?” Scott asked as he and Jo turned from the sound the scream had come from and made eye contact with one another. “It was Cass--but I don’t know why she’s screaming,” Jo said. She took another glance at Ryker and saw that he seemed to be recovering from the cuts in his arm and the pain from the Transformation serum. She started heading in the direction that the scream had come from as she asked both Cass and Zane, “What’s going on?” over the IAC.

This makes him close both hands into fists as he turns with a deadly look towards Sasha, but when he sees her crying face, he calms down.
