Darius and I immediately broke away to look at the source of the noise. My eyes nearly dropped out of the sockets when I saw none other than Alpha Xander standing in front of us. Darius didn't even flinch. Immediately he pushed me behind him, using his body to shield me from his father. Alpha Xander cocked a smile and began to laugh. "Do you really think I won't go through you to get to her?" He asks. I notice how his eyes have become completely black. There's no white visible. The demon possessing him must be getting stronger.

I was nineteen and wolf-less. Shit. Shit. Something very wrong was about to happen. I could feel it. I felt like getting up right now and running out of the bar. Was my wolf about to come out? I gulped my drink. Trying to show that my body wasn’t shaking, I turned to look to the side. And every breath in my lungs punched out of me. The man who was sitting on the bar stool one after mine, was the most terrifyingly handsome man I had ever seen. He looked like an… Alpha. No man should be this inhumanly beautiful. He had a face that was sculpted with perfection by the gods.

She doesn't like feeling weak. “Exactly. I am the Alpha of Nightmares. What is a common thing of nightmares?” he asked, his tone taking on a sinister quality as he leaned closer, claws starting to dig into my skin. “They are dark and terrifying?” I arched an eyebrow doing my best to maintain my bravado. I would not whimper for him. He obviously gets off on that shit.

“And this is what he would look like for you if he could.” I saw the next picture and laughed heartedly, because it was a white fluffy poodle. We sat on the fallen tree I’d officially declared my bench, a few steps away from the water, and lingered there, talking. I couldn’t believe my ears when she confirmed my theory of the scavenger changed by living energy, and that this event had put it —him— on the way to becoming what some called a half-breed demon, with the skill to live attached to living humans and manipulate them to get his daily fix of negative vibes.

There was a 4-wheel SUV parked next to it as well as a yellow Ferrari sportscar that--- Well, what the hell was that even doing out in the woods? And how did it get here in one piece?! “If I cared more, I’d probably give you a speech, but I don’t so listen up, because I’m only saying this once,” I said, as I stepped up next to Ashton, making a mental note to sell that piece of crap the second I got my hands on the papers for it. “I’m Alpha Dargan Hellson and I’m your new alpha. The man you see with me is my Beta, Ashton. You can call him Beta Ashton.”

Damon sighed, stepping out of the carriage with a nonchalant expression. Alfred followed quickly, drawing his gun, but there was no one in sight. His eyes widened slightly when he saw the coachman’s lifeless body on the ground. Blood poured from the jagged wound on his neck, as though the flesh had been torn apart violently. "Rogue werewolves," Alfred muttered just as one leaped from the woods. The creature’s head resembled a feral wolf, while the rest of its body was humanoid. It lunged at Damon, but Damon easily grabbed it by the neck and slammed it to the ground.

Marcus cast his eyes down as his shame covered him like a new winter’s coat. “ For now,Noah, please just trust me.” For a while after Noah left his room, Marcus stared up at the ceiling, feeling like the lowest form of life for lying to his best friend. How could he possibly explain to him that his dad and new girlfriend were being haunted by an ancient spirit, the same one who haunted his gran and her sister years before? “ Hello Marcus.” The voice which suddenly interrupted his thoughts, was melodious and familiar. Marcus looked to his side and by the light of the moon beaming through the window, he saw her.

Tyler was with him, which was good. "Ready?" I asked. "Yeah." Tyler waved goodbye and Stefan got in the car. The drive home felt longer than usual. The sky was getting dark. Storm clouds gathering. "Adrian," Stefan said quietly. "Please tell me what's happening." I looked at him. Really looked at him. He was scared. I could see it in his eyes. And I hated that I was the cause of it. "Someone's threatening the pack," I said finally. "I don't know who or why. But I need you to be careful."

Tom muttered. As Bob tried to rouse Drex, the patrol car turned toward the site of the murder. Tom felt goosebumps prickle his skin; he was terrified of encountering either his friend’s ghost or the creature that had taken his life. "It's so quiet here, Bob. Not a soul in sight," Tom whispered. "This is bad! Drex! Drex! Wake up!" Bob shouted, trying to wake the deep-sleeping Lycan.

“An Alpha is supposed to be the strongest person in the room, but Orrosta has always reminded me that I’m not.” His eyes remained on the ceiling. “Now Circe can trigger an attack whenever she wants. I don’t know when it will happen, and I have no control over it.” His eyes finally returned to mine. “Every time it starts, I have to wonder if this will be the one I don’t survive.” I had seen that fear the night before. I had felt his body tremble beneath my hands while he struggled to breathe. “I’m still here,” I said quietly. “And I’ll keep you here.”
