She kisses his forehead. She turns on the star-shaped nightlight. She closes the door, but leaves it open just a crack so the hallway light spills in like a promise.

Ian scooted over to make room for me. I lay down beside him and began reading. Tired from playing, his eyes started drooping halfway through. I softened my voice, and soon heard steady breathing beside me. I closed the book and started to get up. Ian rolled over and hugged my arm. I froze, afraid of waking him.

We need all the sleep we can get. " he said. I nodded. Few minutes later, I heard Trevor saying to me. "You can't sleep can you? " "Uhmm am not feeling sleepy. " I lied. "Of course you are. Your eyes say so. " he retorted. "You are scared. You are scared you might get another nightmare aren't you? " he asked. "Probably. " I replied

At that point, she was the only one who remained relatively calm and was no longer as hostile toward me as before. I was aware that the death of the three women earlier had left them terrified of me. "I'll take you to your dorm. But remember, once the lights go out, don't leave your beds," I warned them. After all, the night was far scarier than the day in our factory.

I cleared. "I am wondering." I chuckled nervously. "I wondered the same when my father told me about it, I was nine, I couldn't sleep then," "Haha, you were scared, I never get to hear one you know.
