The interior part of the carnival was misty as little to nothing was seen. Every other place was tinted in black and white but just a place, just a tent was in red and bright white. Its colour beckoned Butt who slowly walked towards it even though he was unaware of his environment and how he arrived there. The horror ambience played into a horror slow carnival music. It wasn't long before Butt got there. His face was overwhelmed with confusion and fear as he opened the circus tent.

“There will be tons of this...carts and spins and-” I moved my lips to the side as I pictured out what he was describing. “It’s a carnival, isn’t it?” Skyr’s eyes widened while Byron’s eyes widened in excitement as soon as he saw the expression on Skyr’s face, confirming my suspicions. “Right.” Skyr grumbled. “So much for surprising you.”

I asked, noticing there were a lot of people coming out of the pack and a lot more going in. Henry looked at the entrance. "Oh, there's a carnival tonight so I thought you'd love to come. It would be fun, I promise," He said. I rolled my eyes. I wasn't a fan of parks because it was crowded, too many couples having fun and holding hands like the place was built solely for them. Uhm, excuse me, stop intimidating the single ones. And lastly, there were too many rides that had a lot of distance between the seats and the ground. I was scared of heights. And I couldn't tell Henry any of my reasons.

Every time our eyes met, my heart fluttered as if it wanted to escape my chest. When we finally arrived, the carnival lights were dazzling—twinkling reds, blues, and golds blinked in the dusk, mixing with the smell of popcorn and caramel. It was loud, bright, and full of life. Frank parked, and we joined the steady flow of laughter and chatter moving through the entrance. We tried almost every game in sight—ring toss, darts, and even that ridiculous hammer game where you smack the pad as hard as you can to ring the bell. Of course, Frank hit it on his first try.

“Trust me. We’ll have a blast.” By mid-morning, we were stepping onto the worn cobblestones of the place where the fair was set up. It was one of those travelling fairs that went from town to town, with shoddy-looking rides and overpriced games that were impossible to win. But the sun was shining, Carl was excited, and the scent of popcorn and spun sugar filled the air. Carnival music blasted from speakers, and the Ferris wheel spun lazily against the blue sky.. Carl grabbed my hand, tugging me toward the bumper cars. “Come on!” he yelled as we followed along.

It grew louder and louder the closer we got. I leaned forward in my seat of the car, squinting my eyes to see where the music was coming from, my curiosity now bubbling up within me. “Umm, quick question. This carnival, it’s supposed to be different, right?” Veronica smirked, her eyes glinting in the light. “Oh, it’s nothing you’ve ever seen before. This isn’t just a carnival; it’s The Carnival.” I nodded, and just then, as the music grew louder, we rounded a bend in the fancy road, the headlights illuminating a large, ornate signboard:

I ask pulling her back by the belt of the bag crossed across her body. “Sorry.” She answers sheepishly, taking a look around. “I've never been to a carnival before so I’m excited.” “You don’t say,” I replied sarcastically as we waited for the floats to pass before crossing over to the other end. As we ventured deeper into the chaotic Carnival, I couldn’t help the light frown that formed on my face at the noise, and smell of the sugary and oily foods wafting in the air around me. What was fun about such a place?
