I wasn't expecting any calls. Especially not from an unknown number. For several seconds I simply stared at the screen while it vibrated in my hand. My instincts immediately told me not to answer. Growing up, my parents had always warned me about unknown callers. Scammers. Telemarketers. Strangers. I rarely answered unless I recognized the contact. The ringing stopped. Relief instantly washed over me. "Good." I slipped the phone back into my bag. Only for it to ring again. The same number.

I was never a victim and never plan on being one. “It has been fun chatting with you. I’ll call again real soon. Have fun at Johnny’s” The caller disconnected, and I was left standing there in front of Johnny’s with a fear deep in my soul. This person was not your average prank caller. This was serious. I decided to call the number back and try to get some of my power back.

Sophia’s fingers trembled as she stared at the ominous messages on her phone. The words burned into her mind, each letter dripping with unspoken threats. Every rational part of her wanted to dismiss it as a cruel intimidation tactic, Mercer’s latest attempt to shake her. But there was something unsettling about the wording, something that made doubt creep under her skin.

Holden was speechless. Before he could react in time, Zayn had already hung up the call. He huffed in anger and told Sabrina. “Don’t pick up the call from this kind of person in the future! Block his number directly when you see it! This is not a local number, so you can tell at a glance. Why did you pick up his call and let yourself get angry?”

I stared at the screen…at the blank caller ID that somehow felt more threatening than any name could be. "I guess so. They called with an unknown number the last time and so, I guess they must be the ones calling. Besides, it's a few hours to the time they gave and so, I think they are the ones calling." My mouth felt dry and in turn, I licked my lips, trying to prepare myself for whatever they were about to say. What if they changed their mind? What if 50 billion wasn't enough anymore? What if they'd already hurt Hearty? What if this call was to tell me we were too late?

Christian asked, and Riya quickly told him the digits. Something shocking came into Christian’s view as he saw three missed calls from the same number, the date was the same as when he had an anxiety attack back in London and he was repeatedly disconnecting the call from an unknown number and when he called back on the number next morning, nobody talked to him.

I was eagerly waiting for my secretary to send the message to me so I could check it. "Who do you think it is?" Ben asked, looking at my phone before looking at me. A second later, my phone buzzed. Unknown Number. I stared at it. I shouldn’t answer. But I did. A raspy voice whispered: “You don’t know me. But you should be careful. There are people more dangerous than Diane watching you.” Click. Silence. The line went dead. And just like that— Everything shifted. Again.

She went into the room and locked the door. That's not her husband! That's one thing Maria kept saying to herself while crying. Maria took her cell phone and was about to call 911.
