My heart pounded in my chest as my eyes frantically scanned the surroundings, desperately searching for an escape route. Dread consumed me as I realized I was trapped, surrounded on all sides by these threatening figures. Fear coiled around me like a suffocating serpent, and a whirlwind of terrifying thoughts swirled through my mind, envisioning the horrors they could inflict upon me. "Did ya lose somethin', pretty?" Another one jeered, his mocking tone echoing through the night. The rest of them erupted in a cruel laughter, their malicious intent in the air.

But suddenly, the oppressive atmosphere hit us like a wave. The air was thick with the scent of mildew and decay. A chill ran down my spine, and I couldn't shake off the feeling that we were not alone. And then, suddenly, a blood-curdling howl shattered the silence, making us jump with fear. It was coming from behind us, and it sounded so close, so menacing, that we knew we were in trouble.

Though deaf, it could sense the faintest whisper of mana, possessed blinding speed, and had vision that far surpassed any mortal's.
