Just silence thick and shadows high. Then fingers cold as death’s caress Drag me down the hall—no less. My echo fades behind each scream, Where nightmare slips into twisted dreams. Damnation clings to every stone, And fear leaks out of every bone. Through seven gates I must descend, Where light and memory meet their end. Each time, a layer falls from grace— No praise remains, no soft embrace. My skin grows bare, my steps grow slow, Yet still I walk. I choose to go. Through shadow’s mouth, I drop like flame,

And that night, my real journey began—a descent into the haunted forest, where the main battle awaited me. The place was cloaked in shadows, dense with twisted trees, thick vines, and hanging moss that obscured the sky. I felt eyes watching me, lurking just out of sight. The chill of the night air pricked by my skin, every step filled with dread. Bones littered the ground under an ancient tree, each one a silent warning of the horrors waiting up ahead. In the distance, a scary cave loomed. The thick, damp air reeked of decay and rot. It was as if death itself had settled here and made a home out of the shadows. The smell clung to my throat like smoke, sour and suffocating.

Some students were disappointed, while others were excited and even wished the class would end without a lesson. Hayle excitedly came to the front of the class. "Attention, please!" Everyone was suddenly silent and focused on Hayle. "So, I have something unique that I want to show you." Hayle took out a cassette tape, "I have this!" The students laughed and looked strangely at Hayle, except for one person. Tony. The nerdy student who rarely spoke. He looked at the cassette in Hayle's hand with a shocking face. "This cassette has a song called "Terrifying" which was released in 1982. Well, it sounds weird. Let's play it!"

I said, feigning innocence. I glanced around after speaking. It was true. There wasn't a single living person in sight, but ghosts were everywhere. "This place is cursed!" Charlotte snapped. "I can't even stop. The moment I even think about it, it feels like needles are piercing my hands." Even as she spoke, her hands kept moving. Fear flickered across her face at the scene before her. The terror in her eyes was truly a rare sight to behold. "Is this your doing? Did you come up with all these tricks to scare me? You just want revenge for all the times I picked on you at school, don't you?"

I was a phantom in this world, an onlooker as I watched the inevitable happen. The flashlight in Sasha’s hands flickered, and she wailed in fright as pure darkness closed in. One second, then two—the flashlight flickered. On the third second, the screaming began. Sasha’s voice lifted to an incredible height, before gurgling and sputtering out. Horror locked me still, freezing my blood and keeping me in place. I could feel it all around me, that writhing darkness that was now responsible for the sounds of tearing flesh that filled the room.

Ava's breath scampered as she helmed through the ominous landscape. As she walked, the atmosphere grew heavier, and a distant howl echoed, sending chills down her spine. Suddenly, a figure emerged from the shadows – a silhouette with piercing eyes that seemed to gleam in the dusk. It was a creature, neither fully mortal nor entirely beast, its sight sending waves of fear through Ava's very core.

My surroundings exude a malevolent aura, and the very air is laced with an unsettling chill. As I race through the nightmarish woods, the horrifying howls of the black wolf reverberate through my very soul, causing a paralyzing dread to coil within me. Its presence is an ever-present menace, haunting me like a relentless spectre. I know it is there, somewhere, even though I cannot see it but there is no denying it’s bone-shrilling howl.
