Matteo dismissed it as imagination. “You’ve been fighting ghosts too long,” he told her, brushing his thumb along her jaw. “The world is quiet now. Let it be.”
Bianca wanted to believe him. She truly did. Yet the unease in her chest deepened with every passing night.
