Xolvion shouted as he drew his sword, cutting two of the skeletons in half in the blink of an eye as he protected Crystal from them. "Take this!" Luna shouted as she jumped into action, cutting down a bunch of skeletons before slashing through one of the ghouls, using her razor-sharp claws. However, to her surprise, the monster didn't take any damage as it healed in an instant from her attack. "Wha-what in the!" Luna shouted in shock, not understanding why her attack had failed. The ghoul counter-attacked with its claws, swiping at Luna and cutting her on the shoulder before she flipped back to safety.

He was smaller than Luna, but I could feel the predator underneath the innocent appearance. He circled us slowly. Luna watched him, her ears forward and alert. Then he attacked. Luna dodged without thinking. Ghost's teeth snapped on empty air. We spun and lunged back, catching his shoulder. He yelped and danced away. "Good," Kaelen's voice came through the pack link. "Again."

Her bruised face was filled with shock. "Who is this woman to your Alpha?" I asked Paul. I kept my eyes fixed on her. "She... Well she and Alpha Jake used to date," Paul explained then shuffled his feet. "They were promised to each other. They were supposed to get married. She was supposed to become the Luna."
