“Have I done something that requires your interrogation?” Fiona stepped further inside, her gaze flicking briefly to Caleb before snapping back to me. Disapproval radiated from her like heat. “You must give me an answer,” she said sharply. “Out of everyone in this kingdom, out of all the physicians, healers, and doctors, you couldn’t find another among these people to perform the autopsy? You brought a Scubbus. A Scubbus.” Her lips curled. “Are you for real?”

Later at night we began our search with ten other werewolves warriors, we searched the bush for Kaidaira and also ambusher just in case. Walking back to the palace, I went to her chamber and found a dress she had worn before—no bad intentions—I took it up and sniffed it so I could get her scent and track it. As I perceived, I could feel my claws began to emerge, and my eyes changed color. This was a bad sign.

He looked like he was trying as hard as possible to look normal, but deep down I saw hate. Why would Aurelian be angry about seeing Fiona? Then Fiona suddenly spoke again. “Actually… while moving around with the group, we laid our hands on something.” Aurelian looked up immediately. “What thing?” Fiona lowered her voice slightly. “Something Cassian and I spent years looking for.”

“And before we realized we could share… we nearly tore each other apart over it.” Charlotte flashed through my mind like a scar that never quite faded. She tore through them like they were nothing. Claws slashed, teeth sank into flesh, bodies dropped. She was a storm of rage, and she wasn’t slowing down. I darted between the chaos, my dagger gripped tight. My heartbeat pounded in my ears as I scanned the battlefield. Where was he? Where was Lucien?

His voice dropped low and thundered; “Run.” The rogue obeyed him without any delay. Villagers arrived seconds later with torches and weapons, but it was already over. In the thick of the fight, just as Paul pinned the second rogue to the ground, something shifted. Their scent hit him; it was rancid, not at all like the bloodthirsty pack that haunted his broken memories. This wasn’t a coordinated assault, and these weren’t soldiers. Their eyes were wild with sickness, their movements erratic and desperate. They were probably outcasts who had kicked out of packs and driven mad by the disease festered in their veins.

Garen turned, confused just long enough for chaos to erupt. The Scourged moved fast—faster than any wolf I’d ever seen. In moments, the Enforcers were caught between blades and black fire, turning the clearing into a battlefield soaked in screams. Kael reached for me. “We have to go.” But I froze. Because one of the Scourged had stepped forward—taller than the others, her face half-covered in a silver veil. She lowered her hood. And my blood ran cold. “…Mother?” Kael stiffened.

I declared, trying to stand on my feet, ready to resume our battle, but the Reckoning had other plans. With a sinister grin, he shouted to his fellow rogues, "Retreat! For now, Alpha Noah lives to see another day. But remember, the Reckoning will come for you." Before the rogue leader could capitalize on my vulnerability, Colin leaped to my defense. He raced towards the rogue wolf from the other end of the border, and pushed the rogue wolf to the ground. Colin's swift actions gave me the opportunity to regain my footing. Before the rogue wolf could recover, Colin was suddenly by my side, and we faced him head-on.

He regretted for taking that task which completely destroyed him from inside. “I do not want to kill you. Lucian has gone to find a way so, just wait for a few more minutes. I am sure he has the cure,” Mark proclaimed who had tied Fiona in the shackles. Fiona was struggling but she had tried hard to not let that evil devil soul control her mind. “M-Mark, I do not have time. I will kill others if you will not kill me. Lucian has you. You as his friend will always take care of him a-and,” Fiona lost her control as she broke the shackles and threw it towards Mark who dodged it.
