He drove. With the situation at hand taking the main road to the villa was a risk, someone might be watching him right now. He took the logging trail that looped around the back of the ridge. He parked a mile out and walked the rest of the way, moving through the dripping forest like a ghost. He smelled three things before he saw it. Smoke. Cordite. Blood. He reached the tree line overlooking the rear courtyard. Park signaled behind him. Twelve men emerged from the trees. These were thugs from the underground fighting rings of Busan. They carried baseball bats wrapped in barbed wire, hatchets, and knives.

Then, softer, almost unwillingly, “But history has been wrong before.” She paced once, restless. “There were whispers. Bloodlines thought extinguished. Children born outside the pack. Hidden in plain sight. Marked but unclaimed.” She stopped in front of me. “If this were a mistake,” she said, her voice darkening, “the power would have rejected you. It would have torn you apart.” My chest tightened. Fear crawled up my spine. “I’m scared.” Mira’s eyes locked onto mine. “The wolves you saw,” she said slowly, “silver, gold, red, black… those are not pack wolves. Those are ancient aspects. I shouted. "I may not have gotten you, but I had a backup plan… The death of three from the Asheton bloodline will fuel me enough. Three innocents that were killed in cold blood, on this very night!
