**Elizabeth's POV** * Steven immediately apologized, "Sorry, that's not what I meant." "Hurry up! Don't waste time!" "Yes, Alpha!" Steven immediately opened a cage to grab a hare. Since he had to control the venom, Steven couldn't just let his wolf take over his body. So he could only keep his human form to bite the hare's leg. The hare was frightened and frantically stamped its hind legs backward. Steven tried his best to dodge, but the hare's claws cut the corner of his mouth.

A thin steam rose slowly from the surface of the chamomile tea, creating a familiar, soothing aroma. Julien accepted the cup with a gentle smile. “Thank you. You always know what I need.” I nodded slightly, blowing on my tea before taking a sip. The warmth spread from my throat to my chest. We sat in silence for a few seconds, accompanied only by the ticking of the wall clock and the soft hum of the air conditioner. “I can’t believe our project… is really about to start.” Julien looked at me softly. “Why is that hard to believe?”

“I almost forgot to introduce myself. I’m Sherriff Gustav Bernard, from the Sapphire Mountain PD.” That was all Steven needed to know as all the fight left his body and he looked up at Gustav in horror. “Now, be a good boy and pack your stuff, will you? I don’t think this hospital will be needing your services anymore.” “P-please…” Steven managed to stutter out. “Oh? What was that?” Gustav pretended to have difficulty hearing as he placed his hand on his earlobe. “You want me to make this video viral on social media?” Steven Hallow didn’t need any more invitation. Scrambling on all fours, he all but crawled away from us before getting up on his feet and running for his dear life.

Steven's face was red with anger, and the veins in his neck were tense; he said in a tone full of reproach: "Why didn't you tell me? Why did you keep hiding from me until now? Why do you do this to me? You know, for the last five years I've lived like a soulless corpse thinking Diana was dead, so why would you do that to me? Zelda, please answer to me! I haven't hidden anything from you, but why are you so cruel to me?" I can feel the pain and torment in Steven's words and eyes. However, I don't understand what they are talking about. Why does Steven think I'm dead? So that means he thought I was dead for the past five years? But why? Who spread such rumors? He said he's lived like a corpse

“How do you know for a fact that it was not running rich?” Steven is visibly pale, and sweating, at this point and is searching the area, presumably in a hope to escape. The others seem to have that sense as well, as they start to close in surrounding him. “Steven, she brings up a couple of good questions man. What is going on?” At that he takes off through the one, small opening that had been overlooked.

Ethan went upstairs and saw Steven sitting alone at the corner of the staircase. Steven searched himself and realized he didn't have his cigarettes. He looked up with his proud peach blossom eyes and asked the newcomer, "Got a cigarette?" Ethan waited to respond. He stared at Steven, who seemed outwardly untroubled, and asked with a frown, "Steven, are you okay?" Hearing this, Steven paused momentarily and sneered, "What could be wrong with me?"

Thinking about Celine, who was in jail, gave me the courage not to let Hailey win over me. “Stop it.” Steven coldly spat, and I could see that he was mad when he glanced at me. He took a deep breath, and his forehead furrowed. “Summer, I don't have enough time to waste on you. I'm done discussing everything with you." My mouth parted in disbelief. I was speechless because Steven didn't even have the second thought to embarrass me. He made Hailey see how he usually treated me. “But Steven, it's an emergency—”

They were upset. I picked up the pace, running by the time I got to their door. I skidded to a stop and burst through. “What’s wrong?” I demanded. “The mate bond. I could feel. . . “ I trailed off. Alpha Steven was sitting in a chair, looking quite amused at my breathlessness and panic. "Hello, Luna Izzy," Steven said with a grin.

Faith's confusion deepens, and she studies Steven intently. "An important job?" she echoes, puzzled. "Steven, you know you can tell me anything, right?" For a moment, there's a flicker of emotion in Steven's eyes, but it's quickly masked. He shakes his head slightly. "It's not something I can discuss right now, Faith," he says, his voice guarded. "I wish I could, but... it's complicated."
