Selena I was six years old the first time someone called me cursed to my face. One of the older kitchen maids, Ressa, pulled me aside near the pantry. She bent down like she was about to tell me a secret meant to comfort me. “You know your mother didn’t have to die,” she whispered. “The priests said the moon took her instead of you.” I frowned at her. “Why would the moon want her?” “It didn’t.” She smoothed her apron with nervous hands. “It wanted you. She was just in the way.”

UNO YLMAZ ARMSTRONG'S POV Selena. She is asleep right now. It is very obvious that there is something that's keeping her a little distant from me. I wonder what she is up to. I tried to read emotions and feel her insides but I could not have a good grip of it. Selena must have mastered hiding her true emotions. Every single tine she looks at me, there's a rush and dillema being depicted in the way she stares. Something is really off and in one glance I can say that...our realtionship is secretive.

Gina said with her mouth full. Selena looked at her with a confused face. "Have you been reading more of those books?" She was referring to the books on Gina's desk that had weird titles like "How to properly unlock the door without the key." , "Speak like a smarty pants!" , "Who are you? I am the ugly world?" , "Books for people who are cops." And other titles. Selena didn't even want to think of how silly the contents were. Who on earth even wrote those books and where did Gina even get them?

And what does she want in return? "Bella?" she snapped me out of my thoughts. "Okay, Selena. What do you want from me?" Selena's eyes narrowed, and she leaned in closer, her breath hot against my ear. "I want you to listen carefully, Bella," she whispered, her tone chilling. "If you ever want to see your secret remain hidden, you will do exactly what I want." Tears welled up in my eyes, and I nodded, desperate to protect the child in me. "I'll do whatever you want, Selena, just please, don't tell anyone."
