Friday. The review. Saturday. The ending. Everything after, beginning.

The ones who would find the book in October and November and January and March and in the years after that. Who were in their own specific, particular long middles right now. Who did not yet know that the other side existed. Who were going to find out. Because someone had gone and asked. And had written it down. As though every word was worth writing down. Because it was. My phone buzzed. Not a reader message. Not Vivian. Not Adaeze. Ethan. A message I had not expected on a Tuesday in October. "I bought the book this morning. I read it in one sitting. I need to tell you something. Not about us. About the book. Can I call?"

The book came out on a Tuesday in October. Not a Tuesday I had chosen the publisher had, for reasons involving distribution windows and seasonal catalogues and the particular logic of the publishing industry that I was still learning to navigate. But it turned out to be right. October had the quality of the right month for it the year far enough along that the events it described had had time to settle, close enough to the beginning that they were still present in the public conversation about accountability and institutional failure and the particular human cost of both.

I know a lot of people have questions concerning Ares and it would all come to light in Season 2. So stay tuned for more on Ares in Season 2. **Would there be a separate book on Season 2? No. I would be continuing the book right here. I would not be creating another book on The Alpha's Broken Slave so that it's easily accessible to everyone. On September 26th just come back here to see the first chapter of the Season. No stress. *wink* **What happens between now and September 26th?
