Awake and upright in the chair with a quality of alertness that was wrong for someone who should have been unconscious for several more hours. And his eyes. I looked at them and the looking produced the specific, cold recalibration of encountering something I had not prepared for. They were not the brown I had catalogued. Not the red-rimmed exhaustion of the past days. Not any register of the eyes I had been looking at since I first put him in a chair. Dark blue. Except they weren't just brown. The color moved. Shifted. Lightened to amber when the light hit it one way, then darkened to almost black, then back to that deep warm brown. His patient expression continues to stare at me while I take in his appearance, committing every minute detail to memory, but it’s his eyes that leave me with a sense of unease. His eyes are a deep, dark brown, so dark that under this monolithic structure, they almost appear obsidian. The colour does not disturb me; but instead, their lack of emotion. They're so cold – inhuman even. Two dark, treacherous pools threatening to drown me at any moment.

The warm notes of caramel brown are beautifully mixed with green and orange notes, reminding me of the beautiful forest in autumn. On the other side there's this super light blue, with turquoise and green stripes that make me think of forests in the summer

A deep shade of navy blue surrounded her, mixed with the color of fresh earth, and a dazzling plume of white. "Your colors are blue, brown and white." I noted, watching the colors mix into one another before separating once again. "What shades are the blue and brown?" Camille asked, her voice thoughtful and small. "Grandma always said the shades mattered, and how you interpreted them." "Well, the blue is pretty dark. The brown reminds me of fresh earth, nothing like the dry dirt in my town."
