Hey everyone, I hope you are doing well! I just wanted to leave a note and let you know that I am working on book four which is Ben's story ... The Warlock and His She-Wolf. I have been stuck a bit on the direction of this book for some time, and then for many months got too wrapped up in other ideas. If you have not already read Alpha Ridge that is a spin-off of my Shadow Series. It features Tyson's sister Tyra and Ridge who is Lilly's brother. There are lots of Shadows that make appearances and help on their adventure.

Restricted Archives. The sign should have been enough to stop me.It wasn’t.I descended. The temperature dropped with every step, until the air itself felt sealed away from the rest of the world. At the bottom, a single table sat beneath a flickering torch, covered in books that looked older than anything I had ever seen. One title stood out. The Fall of the Shadow Queens. My breath slowed as I opened it.The pages were fragile, the ink faded but still legible.Illustrations showed figures surrounded by living darkness, not casting shadows but commanding them as extensions of themselves.

I stopped at the library door and smiled to myself. ‘Books are better than people. Books don’t hate on you for something you didn’t do.’ I pushed the door open and breathed in the wonderful smell of books. ‘Paradise.’ I strolled to the shelves and scanned through the books, reading their names off their spines. ‘It seems Dante wasn’t joking when he said half of his library was filled horrors.’ A book caught my eye, and I pulled it from the others. “Bone and Souls by B. Brian.” I read the name aloud and skimmed through the description behind it. “This seems interesting.”

The same strength sucking world she’d insisted on walking one last time before the boys got back. I looked down at her, eyes closed, teeth clenched, struggling to hang on. I balanced her silver ring, a gift from our Mother, on my knee and pulled my grey sleeve over my finger tips, dabbing at the beading sweat on her forehead. Something was happening in the Blacklands and for the first time in memory, Shades were crossing the Southern boundry in droves, bringing with them their violet sky and starless nights. They didn’t eat, they didn’t sleep, they didn’t stop. They just kept coming, pushing us back and taking our land, leaving a sea of dead bodies in their wake.

he responded, whipping his head around in my direction. "Okay, check them,” I ordered. I buried my face down and ran my eyes through the books, then I saw one that caught my attention. "Realms of the Shifting Shadows: Tales of Fantasy and Fur"’ was boldly written on the binding of the book. The book has intricate designs of werewolves under a glowing moon. I picked up the book and opened the first page, which had been aged. I couldn't tell how long this must have been here. The first page I opened was blank. This prompted me to open the second page; it was practically empty, just like the first. I continued opening until the fifth page because I was counting the number of pages as I flipped

Only the stillness of an open grave. Ellie’s signet ring didn't just glow; it shrieked. A jagged, pulsing crimson light radiated from the stone, casting long, distorted shadows across the grey dust. She reached out with her inner sight, trying to find the golden threads of the Alliance, but what she found made her stumble. The threads weren't just frayed; they were being knotted into intricate, suffocating patterns—the **Legion of Bone** was literally weaving the life force of the sleeping wolves into a shroud.

The air smelled clean, the lights warm, the shelves tall and perfect. “Choose the book that pulls you,” the woman said. “It will tell you what you need.” She vanished into the shadows. I walked along the shelves. My hand stopped on one book, not because I liked it, but because something in me reacted. A strange pull. The title was old, written in faded ink:” The Nature of the Cursed: shifters of the Moon.” My fingers trembled as I opened it. Inside were sketches, human shadows twisted into wolves, claws emerging from the hands, glowing eyes in the darkness. I swallowed hard.

The one she swore she’d never open unless she had to. It wasn’t really a book anymore at all. It used to be, once — long ago, before water and smoke and teeth and panic had worked on it. Now it was a block. Thick and lopsided, bound in mismatched leather, edges burned and split. Half the pages were gone, charred to curls. The writing that remained had bled in places, ink like old blood, symbols Baylee didn’t recognize, stuttering between languages that shouldn’t have sat together.

To my shock, they pulsed warm beneath my skin, then dissolved into nothing. The library opened to me. --- Scrolls. Tomes. Relics. All buried under centuries of dust. The air itself felt alive, thick with whispers of memory. I trailed my fingers across shelves until one book seemed to pulse against my palm. I pulled it free. The leather was cracked, its edges scorched, as though fire had tried to erase it. The pages spoke of a line called the Shadowborn. Descendants of a queen who bore two wolves—one of light, one of shadow. Her children carried both. Some controlled it. Most lost themselves to it. The line was said to be cursed, extinguished by fire and war.
