The shadowed man appeared. His figure the same shade of grey as before. He called to Waverly, but she remained unable to move; her feet stuck to the ground below. Then it began to rain and as the droplets hit the ground, green smoke formed around him, encapsulating him. When it dissipated, he was gone.

The shadow lunged at me, massive and formless, but I stood my ground. I summoned everything within me, my power crackling in my veins like an untamed storm. “You can’t take what’s mine,” I shouted, pushing back with a surge of energy. The shadow recoiled but didn’t retreat. Its voice came again, deep and resonant. “You misunderstand. You were never its master.” Before I could respond, something slammed into me from the side, knocking me off balance. I hit the ground hard, rolling to avoid the sharp claws of one of the shadow creatures. Gideon rushed to my side, driving a blade into the beast’s neck.

Instead, it turned into a black light and rushed toward Ding Hao's shadow. However, Ding Hao moved instantly as if he hadn't seen it. In an instant, he appeared beside the Ghost Shadow. "I'll kill you first, you old dog." As his voice fell, the heavy rain fell again. Ding Hao's killing intent had already been made up in his mind. With thunder and lightning in his left hand and wind and rain in his right hand, they all rushed into the Ghost Shadow's body. "Ah... puff!" The Ghost Shadow rushed forward to block the attack, but he was still hit. He opened his mouth and spat out a blood arrow while retreating madly.

Gunnar groaned lightly but smiled as they turned to face the room. "I present to you Bianca, Luna of The Shadow Howlers," he said loudly, causing everyone to burst out into howls and cheers. Gunnar and Bianca sat in the alpha and luna seats with Trisha and Polly on their laps. Every type of food they could have imagined was served to them, but neither was hungry. All they wanted was to get to their bedroom.

They heard laughter coming from the room. “No! No! Hewp the twickle monster is back!” They squealed with laughter as Marco chased Rebel, Ryder and River into the room. “Shadow hewp!” The three of them yelled running behind Shadow. He stood to his full height, crossed his arms across his chest and stared down at Marco. Marco came to a quick stop and looked up at Shadow and frowned. “Ya know, it’s not fair to run behind the BIGGEST guy around.” He said quirking his brow. “Because ya never know when the tickle monster may take him over.”

We can see through the darkness luckily because so can Bane and his men apparently and they advance as soon as the fog covers the whole area. ‘Now Tristan.’ I mindlink our Beta, and he howls from somewhere to my left. Shadow rubs his head against Dawn, and she reciprocates his affection before the first rogue is over us. Shadow takes him down without a hitch, tearing his throat out. Another rogue comes at us and Dawn makes short progress, killing him as well, throwing his body into an advancing Bane.

I rolled my eyes. He grinned, and I couldn’t help but smile back. It was messy, a little ridiculous—but he was trying. And I liked seeing him focus. Sort of. “Alright, angry potato. Try summoning a shadow blade,” I said, holding my hands out to demonstrate. Rain wiggled his fingers dramatically. “Behold... the darkness of my soul!” “Rain.” “Sorry, sorry. Channeling the drama helps me focus.” I raised an eyebrow. “Then focus less dramatically.”

I said and aimed my bow. "We need to kill the monster first." Shadow said with black smoke in his hand. "Rain, can you climb with the cable you're wearing around the monster's neck and stab you in the heart?" I asked, Rain shook his head. "My cable is only the right height, but I'll try, you have to mess with the monster." She said, I looked at Star. "Star, remove the Shield, Rain, by the time we've messed up the monster, make the plan." I said, she nodded. Star immediately removed the Shield, I immediately released the arrow and ordered it to glow, but the monster ignored it.

"He thinks he knows how I’ll react, he thinks he’s lured the fox into a trap." He reached down and picked up a discarded torch, the flame flickering but refusing to die. "He’s wrong…!" Kenziel whispered. "He didn't lure a fox. He poked a sleeping monster, and I’m going to make sure he regrets waking it up." The three men moved as one, disappearing into the darkness toward the northern ridge, leaving the ruins of the festival behind. — because the hunt had begun.
