My smile dropped at the woman who stood frozen with her eyes wide in shock, she was staring at nothing in particular with a mixture of sadness, fear, confusion but most prominently anger in her grey eyes. Her expression caused everyone’s smiles to drop; I took a step closer to her and placed my hands on her shoulders. I looked into her wide eyes and felt Shadow stir restlessly. ‘What is the Shadow? Shadow’s agitation was affecting me. ‘Mate!’ I was taken aback by her reaction; ‘Shadow, this is Tatiana not D-’ I cut myself off and swung around to look at Devin. I looked into his confused eyes and was met with grey eyes strikingly identical to those I stared into just seconds ago.

The truck sped across the muddy beaten path full of tire tracks from other vehicles. Lukas stared at the bright sky. Even if it was morning, the fact that the things they fight in the shadows existed made the world a dark one that no sunrise could ever illuminate. Back when he was living in ignorance, everything was colorful but when he was pulled into a battlezone where incarnated nightmares are the belligerents, everything just becomes black and white. I throw myself to the nearest wall and look around the room. “At least this one has a window to look out from”, I jokingly say to myself. I drag myself closer to the window, grab hold of the frame, and pull myself into the window leaning on it. I look in the window, I stare eyes wide through the blood-stained glass. I can see Brittany sitting in the corner of a room across from the room, I'm in. The window in the room is adjacent to another room next to me. I try to open the window but it's stuck, the window won't budge. I start shouting for her and banging on the window. I can see Brittany walk stand up and walk over to the window and stare into it. It's as if she is starting right past me

It sounded similar to the sound of a big sack of potatoes falling from a great height. Frowning, Shadow turned back only to find the dead body of the older sibling between the twins was lying on the ground. She gasped upon witnessing the scene. I was supposed to eliminate her too. Shadow thought, looking anxious. Who on the earth is following me without my knowledge?! Before she could think anything, she heard someone jump on the sunshade of the building which was standing just before him. Raising her head, she saw a lady standing on the sunshade of a window on the third floor of the building.

“We need access to my room. There’s a hidden wall behind my clothes, in my closet —inside are the prophecy clues . We need to start solving this bloody mess before she wears my face to my funeral.” “So… we steal the key from Theo?” Sonia sounds far too excited about this. I grin, savoring the moment. > “No need. You two forget who I am.” They both pause mid-chew. “I’m SHADOW. I don’t need keys to open doors. When I came here to help with the killer, I already memorized the castle plans. The only place I couldn’t access was the hidden library—because it wasn’t on the plans. But the rest? I can get in. What I need is backup—to clean and sort the room before anyone realizes what we’re doing.”

he said sarcastically, rolling his eyes. “I'm going to kill you!” she growled, trying to claw at his face. “Not today, and I'd be careful on the threats, your best friend will be next if you decide to disobey me again,” he said pushing her away. “We're always watching, now that I know how to summon you, maybe I'll punish you, there for a while,” he said before disappearing. Abey looked down at her Grandfather. The Chief wandered close by. “This is a bad omen, you must leave. You are plagued by Shadows, scat, scat.” he hissed at her.
