Ice asks. “A witch I met in New Orleans,” Bo replies with a smile. Seems like more than a friend to me. “She’ll meet you at the airport when you land in Portland. From there, it’s about a six and a half hour drive to Crescent Shadow territory.” I nod my head. Ice sees my face and turns to them. “Can we go now?” She asks. “Of course,” Gray nods his head. “Get some sleep. Tomorrow will be a long day, you’ll need your rest.”

He turned the book around and in a trembling voice he read aloud. “Lucky – pot – cabin – lake – yours” The book clattered to the floor as it fell from his trembling hands. He turned around to face me, the paleness of his face scared me. “Bella, my mother’s nickname for me was Lucky…we need to head to the shadowlands.” I reached out and took his hand, squeezing it reassuringly. He gripped it back and said to Padgett, “thank you,” and reached into his pocket to offer her a handful of gems which could buy and sell the whole town.
