Shadows of Deception

Shadows of Deception

I swung at her. “Killed!" I swung again. “Marc!" I cried as I hit her again. This time she grabbed a hammer on the ground and pounded it on my left hand where I held the rod, causing it to drop to the ground. I held my aching hand as she tackled me to the ground and was about to blow the claw of the hammer into her face but before she could I swiftly seized a screwdriver on the side and thrust it into her left eye where she screamed and fell back.

A Marriage of Swords

A Marriage of Swords

“This is impossible.” “So was the Whisper Cut,” he murmured. “So was the Serpent’s Maw. We specialize in impossible.” From the courtyard far below, a horn blew—a long, low note that echoed off the cliffs. A scout’s signal. They pulled apart, the moment receding but not breaking. The world, with its perils and politics, was calling. “The first of the lords’ parties has been sighted,” Leigh said, her warrior’s mask settling back into place, but her eyes remained soft, holding his. “Gryffen’s colors are among them.”

Aetherion Academia #1: Shadows of Rebirth

Aetherion Academia #1: Shadows of Rebirth

"And here I thought the Shadow Syndicate had some pride left." The shadows exploded. Ten figures materialized from the training shed. Seasoned A-class bounty hunters, clad in dull leather and tactical mana-armor. Synchronized lethality of a wolf pack. I didn't wait. I dropped my center, crimson silk tearing at the hem as I lunged. The first hunter - brute with a serrated shortsword - swung horizontally. I leaned back, spine bending into a bridge, blade hissing an inch above my nose. Planted palms on dirt. Executed a violent headstand-kick. Boots connected with his jaw.

Werewolf Hunter

Werewolf Hunter

I immediately pulled out the knife behind my leg and throw it at the werewolf attacking in front. I quickly glanced at the one who hasn’t transformed yet but he doesn’t even budge, he is just watching. I grabbed this chance to throw one of my knives but his reflex in a human form is greater than I thought. He caught the knife and stared at the engraved symbol. “The famous clan of Ambrose,” he muttered but I didn’t pay any attention because we are now being outnumbered by these monsters. Rendall and I stopped attacking for a second and weigh the situation we are in. I was about to cover Rendall when I felt a hard thing bump into the back of my head. I touched it as I am slowly losing my balan

Shadows In Steel

I shot back. His eyes narrowed. “You said you didn’t do it.” The words hung in the air. My expression flickered, just for a second. He saw it. I know he did. “What was that? What didn’t you do?” I remained silent. Not because I didn’t have an answer. But because it wasn’t his to hear. He circled the bed slowly, like a hunter before devouring its prey. “Solitary affects everyone. Some break loudly. Some quietly. But they all break eventually.”

Sword of Eryndor

Sword of Eryndor

The distinction was stark: wounds could be healed, but hearts pierced by the sacred weapons would not be revived. Eryndor, his chest heaving with exhaustion, gazed upon the carnage with a mix of awe and trepidation. His Shadowsting dagger, still trembling with the force of his final blow, seemed to whisper dark secrets in his ear. Jack Wolf, his Moonwhisper spear a glow with a soft, ethereal light, stood tall amidst the chaos. His eyes locked onto Eryndor, and a silent challenge issued between them. The arena, once a place of savage contest, had become a crucible for something greater. The true battle was far from over; in fact, it was only just beginning.

Shadows of Solitude

Shadows of Solitude

The morning light filtered weakly through the curtains, casting fractured patterns on the floor — much like my thoughts, splintered and jagged. I sat at the small kitchen table, clutching my cup of cold coffee, staring at the leather-bound book *Reflections of the Forgotten* open before me. The stories inside weren’t just tales — they were warnings, lessons written in sorrow and hope. Women who had lived as shadows, trapped in lives borrowed from others, fighting to reclaim their own reflections.

Shadows of the Lost

Shadows of the Lost

“I know you’ve heard of me, but I’ll introduce myself for formality. The name’s Sloane. I’m a fifteen-year-old powerful and intimidating Shadowest from Beththorphe Empire.” Flicking her thumb, a midnight-black shadow appeared beside her, reflecting her height. She patted it before talking once again. “My shadow’s in level two and it’s a Scyrawing type, because I’m a weapon summoner.” The moment she said the word summon, a dagger flew in the air, which she caught by simply raising her hand. The presence of her shadow and her weapon has intimidated most of their circles that they ended up summoning their shadow, flickering different intensities of darkness.

Probably the most challenging story I have written. With about 5 drafts and two years of crafting, it’s my longest work. It’s thrilling. I revisit it sometimes and, he, even I get overwhelmed and awed. I mean, it feels like I’m not the one who wrote it.

I love the world building of this novel! Even when you’re only in chapter one you can already see how the author meticulously planned the settings of the story. It’s descriptive so even if the world is new and unfamiliar the readers could still easily imagine what it’s like.

Shadows and First Blood

Shadows and First Blood

he whispered, voice low but teasing, “I always wanted a dramatic night on a rooftop. Didn’t think it’d involve near-death experiences.” I rolled my eyes but couldn’t suppress a small laugh. “You really don’t know when to stop joking, do you?” “Never,” he said, leaning close so his lips brushed my ear. “It’s a gift. And possibly a curse. But you like it.” I smirked despite the tension. “Maybe.” The hunters were organized, patient, circling the building below. One of them carried a device—the rumored weapon, sleek, metallic, ominous. I recognized it immediately from the whispers we’d heard: a prototype capable of killing vampires effortlessly.

The Shadow Knight

The Shadow Knight

"They must be truly desperate." "Those aren't ordinary soldiers," Serena warned. "Those are hunter-knights, trained specifically to combat supernatural threats. Their weapons are blessed by the Grand Inquisitor himself. Even with the Soulstone's power, you'd be wise to avoid direct confrontation." The Shadow Knight studied the approaching force. Twenty riders, each representing the pinnacle of the Light's martial prowess. They moved with disciplined precision, scanning the terrain with the practiced efficiency of predators tracking prey.
