"I am Azrael, the lord of this shadow realm, you may address me as lord or plan ol' judge," he puffed out. I swallowed uncomfortably wondering if my matter would be addressed after this strange meeting.

His golden eyes flickered with a mixture of excitement and trepidation, haunted by the weight of the choices he had made. Their pace slowed as they reached a secluded corner of the library, bathed in the soft glow of a stained-glass window depicting a scene of heavenly harmony. Azrael halted, a distant look in his eyes as he recalled his first encounter with Azazel. His hideous scar sent shivers down my spine, but I refused to show any sign of fear. A disgusted look crossed my face, and I could see irritation flicker in Azrael's eyes. He was a master of magic blood now, in fact, he had now become one with its darkness, a terrifying power that sent chills through my bones whenever I witnessed him use it. I hear footsteps and then see two figures slowly approach us. It really dark so I can't make out their faces in the distance. No one outside of Ferro knows that I can shift. Heart racing, Vanadine sought the source of the growl, eventually picking out a shape in the gloom. The shadow of the citadel hid a great deal but enough light penetrated to allow him to see the creature that was stalking him. I gathered every bit of magic I had left. I howled, a sound that echoed through the entire forest, and a dome of golden light erupted from my body, shattering the shadow hands.

The angel didn’t owe me an ounce of loyalty. “We’re on our own,” I said into the bond. Beki gave me a grim nod. “Maybe Hades might want to open up negotiations?” She raised a paw to shrug. “What is this?” Azriel shrieked. My gaze darted to the side, but all I could see amid the sea of bleeding limbs were Azriel’s white wings, which were darkening to a slate gray that bordered on black. He spun around and rushed toward Hades. “What did you do to me?” his high-pitched voice rang through my ears.
