His voice was shaking, and each word dripped with contempt. Then he turned to me, holding my gaze with his piercing stare. “She’s not fit to be my mate, not fit to be our Luna. I will not endanger my werewolves.” His words carried through to me like it was a dream, and then I felt the last vestiges of my sanity slip away. “No!” I wailed, throwing myself at his feet. If he rejected me, I was as good as useless.
