Dark hair fell in waves to his shoulders, framing a face that belonged in ancient legends, including short dark horns at the two sides of his face.
But it was the shadows that still clung to him that made my breath catch. They moved independently, flowing around him like loyal pets, and I suddenly understood what I was looking at.
Not human. Not witch. Something else entirely.
A demon shape shifter.
"You're the one," I whispered. "You've been watching me. Following me."
He didn't deny it. "Yes."
"Why?" The question came out hoarser than I intended. "What do you want?"
