Emma's POV I hesitated before pushing the door open, my heart still in my hands, unable to believe the sounds I had heard from inside. At first, they had been muffled, but standing there long enough made them clear and impossible to ignore. Breathless moans. The heavy grunts of a man. My mind scrambled for excuses. It had to be Ronan’s friends, I told myself. Ronan was part of the Night Owls racers group, famous in the racing circuit—tattooed, tough and chisele faced men.

Shane lost his cool completely as the truck dragged away the flaming red Ferrari farther and farther away. He did not care if he would be able to keep up, but he took off and sprinted toward the truck, yelling while he ran, “Stop! You need to f*cking stop right now. Give me back my car…”

It was a car pursuit. Shawn was driving fast- their car was a blur. Shawn took a sharp left and then a right. His face was no longer jokey, he was no longer the Shawn that in spoke in meaningless riddles and joked with everything, he was no longer the dramatic Shawn, It was now the Shawn that had qualified and groomed himself as a mafia member, it was the dangerous Shawn who could kill with a smile on his face. Xavier watched the GPS Map on the car.

We barely make it into the car before I snap. “What the hell was that?” The words come out sharp, unfiltered. Shaun glances at me, completely unfazed. “Yeah… sorry about that. Seems like my brother had a little too much to drink.” God. He’s still playing dumb. “Oh, shut up,” I bite back instantly. “You know exactly what I’m talking about.” Now’s the moment. No blaring music to drown me out. No distractions.

I had not shared that fear with anyone else. As we approached the SUVs, I went to the one in the back. I knew Shane was in there and was likely furious to have been shoved unceremoniously in the back. A fear of not knowing what was happening. He was not much younger than me, but it seems he is my kid brother. At least for now.

Shaun's face darkened, and he reposted “Shaw, what does that have to do with you?” Shaw waved his hand frantically, “there is no need for you to be upset, you have made a perfect arrangement, I won't be able to rival you in such a matter” Shaw's underlinings laughed at Shaun, Shaun's face was ashen “Shaw Wingman, warn your dogs” Shaun said coldly. Shaw chuckled, “so, they shouldn't smile or laugh?" He sneered.

Shawn softly mumbled to Scott who was in a state of stupor. As a brother he should hate how intensely hot they looked together. But there he was, frozen amidst doing push-ups with dumbbells of ten kilograms each on his back, enjoying how his sister had grabbed his best friend's brother by the collar and pulled him towards her. Their chests brushed but considering Claire's mounting anger and Tyler's equally challenging hard grimacing... They both barely noticed it. "And your brother? I think you told me once that he broke the arm of a man who tried to grab his collar."

The beast did have a beating heart after all. I took slow steps toward him and then sat on his lap. He grabbed me by the waist and pulled me into his groin so that I straddled him, my legs curling around his slender waist. “What did he do to them? A friend of mine is among, and yes his brother plays for the Fuckboy Bulls but he had nothing to do with Shane's sabotage. He wasn't even in town when it happened.” I whispered softly, twirling his shiny locks around my fingers as my arms circled his neck. Words couldn't begin to explain how bad I felt for the poor lads who'd gotten dragged into their elder brothers' shit.

I spent the whole weekend in New York drinking alone. I was surprised, depressed and lost, after knowing Fai and Damian are brothers. I feel like there's no way to turn back and start from the beginning again. All my plans fell apart. I can say Damian is a good man and I am sure he won’t go back to me when he knows I am with his brother, Fai. Now, I don’t know what I should do? End my game with Fai and pursue Damian or continue the plan since I need more information about Damian, Anna and others.
