I had put so much hope in that bastard Richard and he didn't show up or even try to call for that matter. How insensitive could he possibly get?

The line rang once… then someone picked up. “It’s… it’s done,” Dr. Watson said, trying to steady his voice. A brief silence followed before a deep voice responded firmly, “Good.”

He looked up when I entered and went still. Dr. Harrison hadn't changed. He still held a tablet the way someone else might hold a clipboard. He looked at me the way a person looks at something that reappears where it stopped being expected. "Luna Alice," he breathed. "Dr. Watson," I said. "Just that. It's good to see you, Harrison." He crossed the distance in three quick strides and then stopped, with too much space left between us, hands at his sides. His gaze moved across my face. I let him look.

"Wait, if the crazy guy is so confident about it, don't tell me that he really is Dr. Watson's husband after all!" "Exactly! Look, Dr. Watson's face is turning pale.
