“Sherry, where are you going?” Chris shouted at Sherry from where he was standing as he watched her walk towards her room on the second floor. Sherry ignored him and quickly made her way to her room to get changed. She was clutching her hand phone in her hand while looking extremely anxious and tensed. “You…You heartless woman!! Don’t you want to meet your best friend? She is suffering right now!” Chris tried to emotionally blackmail her. Sherry stopped at his last statement making Chris almost jump up and down in sense of victory.

I look around but I don't see anything. “They are getting closer, will you follow?” he starts to get demanding a little as I sit looking around for the giggling. “Who's getting closer?” I ask the man. Just as I finish asking the man wraps his arms around me from behind the tree, clamping his hands together, holding me right on the rough bark of the tree. “Let me go!” I yell hoping he would listen. The sound of giggling gets louder as his grass gets tighter. I see a light from a flame appear from behind me lighting up everything in front of me. Summer is almost over. After locking my car, I turn around only to freeze. My eyes lock on chocolate brown ones and I gulp as my eyes glide over her clothes. Does she live here? There's no way. She gives me a small wave before heading inside. The house is right across the street from me. She's right across the fucking street! Melany Reecher lives right across the fucking street. There's no other explanation. I heard she's a scholarship student so how does she live here? Can today get any more complicated? I angrily open my mailbox and drag the envelopes out of the iron mechanism before stomping inside.

Let's see how she's doing. The room upstairs reeked of blood and sweat. A dim bedside lamp cast a dull reddish glow, and the air felt thick with despair. Sheryl lay face down on the bed, completely still and naked, breathing shallow and uneven. Her back was marred with raw, bloodied wounds, the marks of repeated lashes tearing through her skin. Eden turned away, unable to bear the sight. He had never liked Sheryl—her arrogance, her sharp tongue—but they had worked together. Seeing her reduced to this state stirred something uneasy in him.

The fiery young woman's face that had first arrived at Blackwood Hall in a maelstrom of passion was not the face that she now saw in fragments of glass. The dress looked exactly like wedding dress, regardless of it black coloring. Shirley took a good look at her surroundings, and it didn’t take long for her to realize where exactly she was. She was surrounded by both thick and slender trees, and a cloud of black smoke in the atmosphere, making the woods really dark and almost impossible to see things from a distance.
