I began to read: “The secret to his power is the glow of a gem. It glows whenever it wishes and once it glows up to fifty times in Valon’s presence, the whole power would be invested in Valon forever. I do not know how many times that gem has glowed in his presence, but I hope you can find this letter sooner to seize the gem or destroy it.” I gaped at the revelation and I feared that it could have glowed so many times before we got back to this kingdom. No matter how many times it has glowed, I really hope it hasn’t glowed up to 50 times.

I could not take any chance at this point. I dropped and walked back home. On my way home, when I was walking through a dark alley, I saw something that was shining bright and I wondered how anyone had not been attracted by the light or even curious. I moved closer to the light and saw that it was a gem, shining brightly. "What gem is this?" I muttered under my breath, in awe. I began to feel drawn to it and didn't even know what prompted me to pick it up. As I picked it up, the light went dim and I was no longer seeing the dark alley, I was seeing hills and mountains and rivers, then an old woman who had a small hut there.

There is no doubt that the little boy will be the most popular and have a million little kids ready to claim him as his best friend. About an hour goes by of me laying there in complete silence as Gem heals me. She's been crying the whole time about everything going on, but when asked if she wanted to talk, she told me she just needed a good cry. So I just let her do her thing. Her cheeks glittered gold and her hair shinning yellow, caught the sun, and glowed more. She was beautiful, which made me even more annoyed. She was a Gem. Gems were beings who were outragiously good-looking and could get men to fall at their feet with a toss of their tressels. Her kind didn't ride the bus. Yet, here she was, flaunting her 'assets'. "Can't see it," I lied. One quick sweep of the floor gave me away. "It’s right there." She pointed at it. "Oh. There. Didn't see it." I ignored her.

He wasn’t budging. “Oh maybe you found the Gem.” “You know that’s impossible.” Asrar grumbled. He hadnt even had a chance to look for it but it seemed like it was going to be hopeless to find. He really didn’t care however, he had his other half and felt complete. He didn’t need to prove himself no more because the one he had to prove himself to was already happy with who he was.

I pulled it out and hugged it to my chest. It was soft and smelled like lavender. “She is perfect,” I said, my voice thick with emotion. “Thank you.” He held my gaze for a moment, then decided I could handle one more and pulled out the second box. “This one I chose after the lake,” he told me. “After you decided to give us a real chance.” I opened the box, and my breath caught. There was a delicate platinum bracelet with intertwined emeralds. It was beautiful. And truly expensive, a small voice added in my head.

“Go on—open it. I think you’ll like it.” Alia glanced at him warily before slowly lifting the lid. The moment it opened, a brilliant light burst forth, almost dazzling her. Inside lay a necklace so exquisite it was impossible to look away. The chain, crafted from countless tiny diamonds, shimmered like a flowing river of stars. At its center hung a teardrop-shaped gem, as pure and radiant as moonlight, its facets refracting a kaleidoscope of colors with every movement. The intricate design was a masterpiece, showcasing the unparalleled skill of a master jeweler. Even Alia, who had seen her fair share of treasures as a thief, found herself momentarily awestruck.
