I nodded awkwardly and began munching away, forgetting about my dignity. Adrian rolled up the sleeves of his crisp navy blue shirt, revealing powerful well-muscles arms that moved with easy grace as he sat on the floor around the table with us. “Your friends look tired,” Adrian suggested, smiling as he reached for a book, “why don’t we read them a goodnight story so they can all go to bed?” Lily sighed dramatically, feigning tiredness as though she and her dolls had been at work all day. She yawned and then nodded, “good idea, daddy. Oh, oh, tell us the story of Peter the rabbit.”

Logan As they lay in bed, I giggled gently at their drowsy eyelids. I got up and headed to the door, where I stood and heard Skylar mutter something to them. It wasn't until I witnessed the children's excitement in listening that I realized the main point of her message. It seemed as though her words were keeping them from falling asleep. Children should fall asleep with a bedtime story, but these kids seemed to become little hooked by it. But after a while, their eyes began to close. As Skylar squatted down in bed, laughing at their tiredness, Andrew and Anna also sat up, resting on their pillows.

There was one solitary, big book on a low table between them. "The title of the tale is The Binding of Autumn," he began, his voice an entrancing whisper just in harmony with the shriek of the fire. “It's the tale of a harvest god who offers a mortal woman a choice: one night of absolute freedom for one year of unimaginable riches for her people." He didn't move as his eyes met hers. "The consent is the matter at hand. It must be freely bestowed, not coerced, and whispered three times into the skin of his throat." “Do you have any idea what sort of story you're going to be reading me tonight?”

"I want to stay with you now. I miss you so much." "I know, sweetheart. How about Mommy tells you a really fun story? You get some sleep, and when you wake up, I promise I'll stay a few extra hours with you. How does that sound?" "You promise?" "Pinky swear!" I cross my fingers and kiss them. "Okay." I help him get comfortable in bed and sit in a chair to start telling him the story. "I want the story of The Girl with the Red Hood." "Oh wow, that's not exactly a bedtime story, Alex!" I grumble. "How about something more…"

"Of course, baby. But let me finish my coffee first." "So, you said you can't sleep?" I asked, leaning against the doorframe, trying to sound casual despite the fluttering in my stomach. Avery nodded. "We need our bedtime story," she said in a sad voice, and that simple statement broke my heart. Reading them a bedtime story was an important part of our nighttime routine. But I missed it tonight.

The boys were too tired to put up their usual bedtime resistance, allowing themselves to be tucked into their beds with minimal fuss. "Story?" Ethan requested, his eyes already half-closed. "Short one," I promised, settling into the chair between their beds while Thomas leaned against the doorframe. I chose a familiar story about brave little mice going on adventures, my voice soft and soothing in the dim light of their room. By the time I reached the end, both boys were fast asleep, their breathing deep and even. Thomas and I tiptoed out of their room, leaving the door slightly ajar as always.

I sighed. His black loungewear contrasted with the cream-colored bedsheets. I walked over, gently plucked the book from his grasp, and held it up with mock disapproval. I sat beside him and suggested, "Instead of reading, how about I tell you a bedtime story?" Amusement flickered in his eyes. "That drink is hitting you pretty hard," he said with a smirk tugging at his lips. I waved away his comment and patted my thigh invitingly. "Come on, it will put you to sleep fast! Don always liked to rest his head on my lap, and often fell asleep like that..."

Davina lamented. “Are you a grown-up? The answer is No! You are still a child and sleeping early would help your brain’s activities.” I responded. I tucked them in successfully and turned off the light after reading a short bedtime story of Mama Bear and Baby Bear. Striding carefully out of the room I closed the door gently behind me. “Is there anything you want me to do for you before retiring for the day?” Nana Amy asked. “No, you can leave now. But before you go, where is Father?” I inquired.

"I know you're awake, so get up." She groaned sleepily. "James, please, I fell asleep at three o'clock in the morning, so could you please shut up and let me sleep?" she asked, hugging the pillow beside her. "And it's not my fault you didn't go to bed early; we already talked about it, so don't give me that reason. Will you stand there, or will I drag you to the bathroom?" James threatened. She moaned once more. Damn, this jerk! Despite her love for him, there are times when she just wants to torture him. Does he not notice how sleepy I am?

she blinked. Liam leaned down, kissing her tenderly on the forehead. "I'll tell you a story, and you'll fall asleep soon." Liam swiped the screen while his beautiful eyebrows knitted. "What kind of story would you like?" Gemma slowly closed her eyes. "I'll listen to whatever story you tell." "How about 'The Tortoise and the Hare' or 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'?" "These are too childish," Gemma said with dissatisfaction, quietly opening her eyes.
