The ground suddenly trembled. I skidded to a stop just as three corrupted wolves leapt from the shadows—fur matted, eyes black as oil. The Queen’s curse. Their snarls echoed off the cliffs, twisted by madness. Gregor lunged first, meeting the lead wolf midair with a bone-crunching thud. I darted in beside him, claws slashing, teeth bared. The corrupted creature reeked of rot and old magic, and as my claws tore through it, the damn thing laughed.

The story continued, darker still: “To achieve their ambitions, they performed a blood sacrifice upon the sacred altar of the Moon Goddess, seeking to diminish her power within their lands. Their intent was pure audacity, a plan to neutralize the divine essence that governed them. But their sacrilege was met with fury beyond mortal comprehension. The Moon Goddess, enraged by their insolence, cast down a curse so potent that every descendant of the pack who bore the bloodline would no longer shift into a wolf as is natural for their kind. Instead, they would transform into creatures of terror—monstrous forms that reflected their defiance, their hubris, and the darkness they carried within.” I

“But shucks are monsters. Cursed, feral… How can they even be controlled?” “That’s what you don’t know,” the general says, leaning closer, his voice low and serious. “A shuck isn’t just a monster. A shuck is a werewolf… cursed to die with hate and despair in their heart. To roam forever looking for who hurt them. But shucks have no memories, so they just hunt, hoping to be released from their curse.” I blink. The room feels heavier. “Each curse,” he continues, “has to be created. Not by chance. Not by accident. Created.”

Remembering made me shudder. He gave me a sharp look. "You heard them? Felt them?" "I - Yes, I think so." I stepped closer to him, suddenly afraid. I knew nothing about where I was. Leo placed his hands on my bare arms. "Those are the Cursed. They are creatures who turned their backs on Polonias and the goodness of the magic in the land. They are like the demons of your world. Some are desperate for a way out of the darkness, while others seek to pull unsuspecting travelers in. They are the cause of the Sickness." He shook his head. "Did you understand them?"

It landed strangely, low in my chest, somewhere I didn't have time to examine right now. "What's in there?" I asked. He was quiet for a long moment. The floor beneath us gave another small shudder, the same low groan I'd felt earlier, like the whole house was breathing through something it didn't want to. "Records," he said finally. "Old ones. From before the war." "About the curse?" His eyes sharpened slightly. "How do you know about that?" I opened my hand and held the locket out where he could see it, the small folded paper still tucked inside, the symbol catching the hallway's low light.

The wrongness. With Shifters, we’re one with our spirit animals, but the Wyres are cursed. Their spirits had been mutilated, twisted into a completely different being—a being that mirrors the ruthlessness and darkness of their souls. The first Wyre had been a monstrous man, a killer who had no qualms about taking what wasn’t his. He insulted a witch, forcing his pack to live the rest of their existence separated from their spirits. Two minds, one body. It would make anyone go mad.

I replied, still leaning against the table and looking out the window. "What's stopping you from talking to us?" Lestat asked. "You want to know one of my plans? The curse that is inside me can be released in the middle of the battlefield... The seal Erick put on is breaking." I pulled my blouse away and left the black mark exposed, but without using any skill to hide the ramifications it had on my skin. The veins are bulging and a corroded black hue, the surrounding skin is burned as it pulses and is spread across my shoulder and down under my left breast.

Minx asked in curiosity. “Yes, Girruinas, Mapirruinas and Dellanrruinas. They are siblings cursed by their mother, Herodias who the people of the old times believed to be the goddess of the sea. They rebelles against her and all the good things she offered to mankind, they killed the creatures of the sea and even those of the land and their mother was pissed so she fought them with her celestial powers but she wasn't as strong as three of them combined, they were successful in killing her but she cursed them on her death bed to turn into demons and be caught by witches who will seal them in pots for hundreds of millennia'” Wendy explained and they all kept quiet and listened to her.

His eyes, filled with wisdom, glanced up as I entered. ‌ "Alpha Tyler," he greeted, acknowledging my presence. ‌ "Shaman," I replied with a nod. "I've come seeking answers about the curse," I announced, my eyes locking onto his. "This affliction has tormented me for far too long. I need to understand its origins, its purpose. Have you discovered anything new?" ‌ The Shaman sighed, his expression solemn. "I've delved into the ancient texts, seeking the origins of this curse, but the answers remain elusive. This curse is complex, deeply rooted in ancient magic that even my extensive knowledge struggles to comprehend."
