My mother had been sent back to the states with her unborn child. Sapphire was exotic and perfect. I could certainly admit that. She had inherited her father’s wolf traits. Where the rest of us were common red wolfes, Sapphire was a beautiful arctic wolf. Her most unique trait was her eyes though. She had one bright blue eye and one green. Even in human form her eyes and naturally frosted silver hair captured the attention of everyone.

I wondered how it would have gone if I had navigated the whole place myself. “What’s her name?” I asked, referring to the cat. “It’s male and his name is Emerald.” She replied behind me. I ran my hands through the sleeping cat’s fur and watched it wake up, “Oh, the eyes.” It had beautiful glassy eyes, blue and sparkly. Emerald. “It’s beautiful.” She smiled, proud of herself, “He’s just getting started, he’s going to be so big and magnificent, he;s a siberran breed.”

"You should keep the cat," he said, stopping in front of the driver's door. "You got the same eyes." And they did have almost the same wide eyes. When he had taken a closer look at her eyes, he could see the deep azure shade of the blue sky. Truly, her eyes were supposed to be evergreen. He realized that. But often, it would reflect the deep mysterious ocean, making him want to drown himself in it.

I just shake my head to remove all these thoughts from my mind. Tatiana looks at me with a very concerned look. I do not want to ask her as I know it must be something related to Sierra's kidnapping or about Amaruq's betrayal. "Fenris, why has your eye colour changed to black from blue?
