"Timothee?" I said quietly but he didn't answer.
Then he turned and skated off the ice without a single word, leaving me standing there alone, my heart pounding so loud I was sure the whole rink could hear it.
"Mercy Hogan kissed the new guy," someone said behind me, loud enough for half the rink to hear.
I climbed over the barrier, my legs shaking, my face burning.
