The words were faint but distinct. My heart raced. Was I losing my mind, or was there something more to these whispers? I stood up, brushing the dirt off my jeans, and took a few steps back. The whispers grew louder, more insistent.

I caught the way their eyes lingered too long on me, the way one of them shook as if I might lash out just by breathing.

The predator Aria saw. "Your network is loud," the Silence says. "It is chaotic. It is... inefficient." The screens flash red. "I have come to bring order." BOOM. The windows of the Grand Hall blow inward. Not from a bomb. From a sonic pulse. Screams erupt. The crowd stampedes. "Get the kids!" I scream, shoving Alex toward Aria.

As soon as Sienna had said that, she noticed that Harry had locked his eyes on her. His eyes were as dark as ink. There was a light that flickered in his eyes. It was dangerous and showy, but it also came with a fatal attraction. Sienna was a little uneasy with his gaze. She was about to look away when she heard him ask half-smilingly, “Have you always been like this?” “What?” “You are quiet and never make a noise.” Harry took a step closer to her. His body pulsed slightly, like something inside him wanted out, or wanted more control. My hand moved fast, fingers drawing the sigil in the air as I whispered, “Silencium.” The spell snapped out like a whip, invisible and tight. It hit him dead-on.

Liora’s P.O.V. My world tilted sideways. “What?” The words struck me like a dagger. My mind went blank completely, unable to process the lethal blow that was hurled on me. I opened my mouth, struggling to speak, but all that came out was a strangled whisper. “No… that’s… impossible!” The hall had gone deathly silent. All eyes turned towards us, but I barely noticed anyone except Scarlett. Her face was pale, her lips trembling as she pressed her hand over her belly.

That was enough. As for Benjamin, she smiled faintly. She long stopped expecting anything from him. Instead of waiting for someone else to change, she would rather live her life on her terms.
