It started from the ridge to the riverbend, banners woven with silver thread and emerald dye swayed between the ancient trees. Flowers bloomed where none had grown the night before, wild magic answering joy. Seele stones ringed the ceremonial clearing, their glow soft and steady, humming with approval as if the land itself had decided to bear witness.

Jack uses his Alpha voice with her. "I am Sienna Mendetta, but everyone calls me Silver." Silver introduces herself. Sienna? I never knew that was her real name. I knew Silver was just a nickname, I never asked what her real name is. "Why does everyone call you Silver, Sienna?" He questions her more. "My hair. It's a birth defect in my family, all girls are born with silver hair." Jack nods. I walk over to Silver, "It was amazing seeing you again. I'll visit you soon." I state. "I bet you will." Silver laughs. I smile at her and mouth 'thank you'. She mouthes 'you're welcome' back.

This game between us is far from over, and I won't be easily swayed by his attempts to win me over. I return to the comfort of my room, the soft glow of the chandelier casting a warm ambiance. The maids bustle around, attending to their duties with practiced efficiency. Silver, the eldest among them, approaches me with a gentle smile, her eyes filled with concern. "Good evening, Lady Natasha," Silver greets me, her voice soothing and comforting. "I hope your day has been a little brighter." I offer her a faint smile, appreciating her efforts to uplift my spirits. "Thank you, Silver," I reply softly. "Your presence always brings a sense of calm."

Cleopoda and Phoenix had gone downstairs ahead of us and were sitting at the table with Miles who had been filled in on what was going on. As soon as we took our seats both Silver and Phoenix spoke together. "We'll get that thing out of her." "Phoenix!" The moon goddess rolled her eyes at her sister and held her hands up in surrender. "Fine, I promised I wasn't going to say anything but I stand by this one," she pointed at Silver. "I stand behind whatever she says." Silver was glad the moon goddess supported her but for the first time, Miles did not support his sister. Maybe he knows something the rest of us don't.

The witches of the Silver Circle had arrived just before dawn, cloaked in garments stitched from twilight and secrets. Three of them, each a reflection of something older than time. The first, Elandra, moved like wind over water—graceful, dangerous, unknowable. The second, Maelis, had hair the color of frostbitten ash and eyes so pale they looked almost blind, though I knew she saw too much. And the third, Isolde, was the youngest-looking, but her presence thrummed with power that made the hair on my arms stand on end. They moved through the hall with a quiet reverence, their eyes never leaving me.

The princesses knew that and still tried their luck anyways. The Silver family was from North Oakland and their kingdom was as obviously seen, the Silver kingdom. They came by means of five chariots that were ridden by five horsemen and ten horses. Prince Silver was in the fifth carriage but neither the princesses nor the people in the castle apart from Pink-White, knew why the Silver family was treated in such high regard.

“The moon goddess would never bless silver. It would be extremely dangerous in the hands of an enemy.” “Exactly.” My tone hardens. “Which is why we believe that ‘silver’ isn’t an object.” She blinks. “You mean it’s a person. Are they for us or against us?” “Most likely,” I nod. “Priests are blessed by the goddess too, so it fits the description.” She brilliantly adds. “We thought so too. But that’s another branch of the investigation. As you can imagine, we’re stretched thin.” She doesn’t respond right away. The silence stretches. I glance at her, catching the faraway look in her eyes.

Silver said, although he tried to hide it, in a problematic tone. Cain wanted to burst out laughing but he held it back immediately. Although Silver looked funny while being pitiful because of a woman, he was still the same person who annihilated the nobles who owned him before just because he didn't like them and they annoyed him. "Silver, I know a person who can fulfill that request of the Silver Moon. She has no presence and after a year of training with the nurturing group, she didn't even manage to make friends at all. Should I call her?"
