"You are just looking at him right now." Hana stops laughing and her smile slowly fading like it is not a funny thing she'd heard from Chen's corny mouth. She feels like, Chen is really serious the time he throwed that line. Hana thought that maybe Chen was just joking and it just a funny thing or an irony thought that can be a good line to throw for Hana. So, Hana bluffly laughs like it was very awkward for the both of them and Chen also laugh but Chen cut the fun.

It’s late they rub their little eyes groggily. “ Where are we going momma?” Gracie asks. “We have to go meet daddy baby,” I smile and say. In unison they both look at me holding Xavier. “Is that our baby momma,” Gracie asks excitedly. I start to laugh. “No peanut, this is Uncle Liam’s baby,” I reply to her curious self. She starts to twist her face into a pout then puts a smile back on her face. Tucker is still trying to grasp what is going on. As sensing the air he stiffens and puts an arm around his baby sister.

The real one, the brief unguarded sound of someone caught off guard by something genuinely funny, the laugh that only happened when you had stopped monitoring yourself for long enough to be surprised. I had heard it four times. I had been counting. "Yes," I said. The word landed simply. Without qualifications or the usual internal notation of what was complicated about it. Not: yes, within the structure of this situation, given the contract and the timeline and the various things that would need to be navigated. Just: yes. The word in its plainest form, meaning exactly one thing, applied exactly. Nate looked back at his drink. The smile did not go anywhere.

I wish I could see Arthur's face when he opened it. I was feeling bold so I decided to type alongside something naughty to it, "Make sure you're alone when you open it", with a wink emoji. "Why is he saved as a dickhead on your phone?" "It's an inside joke", I laughed. "Oh well, his dick is gonna be in a part of your head anyways", she grinned. "Reese!"I looked at Ana and Lilly, but they were so absorbed in their conversations and phones. Trust Reese to always find something nasty to say to the most innocent words. Well, dickhead wasn't that innocent though.

Leaning on the counter, Jessie replied, "Find him a girlfriend. He can cook and make out at the same time. Problem solved." Ronny burst out laughing so hard his stomach hurt. "Jessie, that's hilarious! I'm definitely trying that next time." Jack couldn't help but laugh too when he saw Jessie laughing. Harry's eyes narrowed with amusement. "No one does deadpan humor like Jessie. She says it with a straight face but it's pure comedy gold." "I was being serious," Jessie said with mock seriousness. Ronny laughed even harder, shaking from head to toe with the garlic still in his hand.

Jayson froze when he saw me laughing. He frowned and asked, "What are you laughing at? How can you still laugh when you've been backed into a corner?" "I'm laughing at how pitiful you are," I said, turning solemn again as I calmly met his angry gaze. "Jayson Simpson, you've been thoroughly fooled by these two women, and yet, you still think that you're playing the role of a fair judge. "Don't you think that you're the one acting like a clown after all?"

It felt good—light, like a breath of fresh air in this park where the wind rustled the leaves around us. We sat on the bench after that, side by side, our shoulders almost touching. He started telling these silly jokes—the kind that weren’t even funny, just dry and ridiculous, like “Why did the scarecrow win an award? Because he was outstanding in his field.” Corny as hell. But I laughed anyway, hard and genuine, because the real joke was how bad they were, how he delivered them with that straight face like he thought they were gold. It warmed me up inside, chasing away the chill for a bit.

I turned to Rhys. "Rhys, don't bring up that childhood betrothal again. It was just a joke made by the dons over drinks. It was never real." "Those were your words. Are you taking them back now?"
