"What if I burn you alive?" Joeben said. "I don't want to be burned, it's hot. " Jin replied. "How about drowning you in the quicksand? "Yuck! Too much mud dirt, then I might not be able to breathe."

Closing my eyes I regulated my breathing, throwing off my jersey and knowing if I thought it over I wouldn’t do it and so, I blindly dived in, trying to see through all the red, but trying not to think about it too much, think about swimming in blood. He was dying. Justin Star was drowning right before my eyes. I was relieved when my fingers touched his cold skin, blinking rapidly to get a better sight of him. Pulling him up with all might because of how heavy he was, I tried my best to get him up to the surface. It helped in no way that this was the deep end of the pool.

"You should have used the yellow wolfsbane, works everytime." He gasped, struggling against my grip. I smirked at his pale face as it had lost all it's color. "No one needs a priest like you, in fact, I'm doing the world a favor. You should've confessed your sins when I gave you the chance to, maybe you could've been going to a better place or else…" I trailed off, digging my claws harder into his neck. "...see you in hell." Just then, I clawed at his stomach, causing blood to splash all over myself. His lifeless body dropped helplessly to the ground, a pool of blood quickly forming around him.

The innocent sight made heavy guilt crawl up my throat, nearly choking me. “I’m glad you both had fun,” Jameson said smoothly, giving them each a kiss on the cheek. Then his eyes slid over to me with dark amusement. “While you both were having fun, Nelson and Kat were also having quite a bit of fun.” Nelson choked on his glass of water. I felt all the blood drain from my face. I fucking knew this asshole wasn’t going to keep his mouth shut. “Isn’t that right, guys?” Jameson added, smirking like the devil himself.

I lost it, my tears choking off the rest of my words as I fell to my knees. It was the first time I’d allowed myself to feel anything other than numb about it. My sister knelt beside me and I could feel her aching to touch me. "And everyone else?" I shook my head. Saying it out loud made it so heart crushingly real. "Stan was taken at the motel... Burney killed him and we ran... Mike had HG shrapnel in him. A patrol car pulled us over and... He killed them... We were almost there... Burney saved me... He screamed at me... To run... And he... saved me..."

It writhed in pain, letting out pitiful wails. Sarah and I watched the battle from the side. At first we were terrified, but as the battle continued, we found ourselves caught up in the excitement. Seeing that the Temptress was down to its last breath, Sarah's curiosity got the better of her, and she stood up and walked closer. "Don't go near it!" Peter and Gus shouted in unison. But it was too late. The dying Temptress suddenly leaped up and pounced toward Sarah. I shouted and rushed forward, pushing Sarah aside. I felt a sharp pain in my arm, then everything went black, and I lost consciousness.

The world seemed to contract into a single heartbeat—smoke thinning, air slicing clean, the wind pausing like it wanted to watch. Marino’s eyes found her instantly. He smiled. “Ah. The little queen herself.” He started to lift his gun. She didn’t let him finish. Her finger tightened. One clean squeeze. The recoil hit her shoulder, solid and perfect. The bullet caught him dead center between the eyes. Marino’s body jerked once, a puppet whose strings had been cut. He hit the pavement with a dull, final thud. His gun clattered beside him, harmless. Silence followed. Not peace—just the kind of quiet that happens when everyone is recalculating their odds.

Riven said calmly. “I’ll rinse her hair,” Zaiden said immediately. “I’ll hold her so she won’t drown,” Zyran added. Dax snapped his head at him. “She’s not a goldfish, you psychopath.” Zyran lifted a brow. “You sure? She almost died five times this week.” “EXCUSE ME,” I yelled. “I’m literally RIGHT HERE.” None of them acknowledged that, instead, Dax placed a hand on Riven’s shoulder like he just remembered something.

Three minutes went by quickly. The last one standing, Senji, fell onto the floor with his hands over his neck, his expression in disbelief. Blood gushed out from the seams of his fingers over his neck. He held his neck tightly, trying to speak but the signs of life faded from his face rapidly. Cough… Senji opened his mouth but blood gushed out uncontrollably before he finally died. The noisy underground level finally returned to silence. Albert was covered in blood, standing on a pile of dead bodies. His bloodshot eyes were closed.

He was wearing a bright coloured shirt so Brian saw bloodstains slowly dripping from the back of his head to his shirt. Henry was almost connecting his hand to the door handle when he turned around to face Brian. "One last thing, I know feelings cannot be forced but I would rather kill you than allowing that sweet innocent girl to get involved with you. You don't deserve love, mercy or care. You deserve hate and bitterness and you also deserve to end up with the likes of Kayla and Aura." Henry said, then took his leave, slamming the door behind him.
