I Reject You, Mate
I pull back with skin in my mouth and I gag, vomiting all over the floor and Alaric’s unmoving form.
I sob, puking, and hands encircle my waist, pulling me off Alaric, my back hits a familiar wall of heat as I am lifted off the ground. I fight against him, needing to finish it; to return to Alaric and bring him back to life if I can, just so I can kill him again.
“He’s gone, Gin,” Sinclair breathes against my ear. “Good girl.”
Sinclair’s voice is the heavens and the stars at once, and my body calms momentarily, only to be wracked by uncontrollable, tired cries. He sets me down, only to slide his hands under my knees and shoulders, cradling me to his chest.
