I savor the moment, reveling in the playful dance we're sharing. Without breaking eye contact, I slowly lower myself, feeling the cool water envelop my ankles. His expression shifts, a mix of curiosity and desire. Under the Surface The plunge into the water stole Nyra’s breath. Darkness swallowed her as she sank. Panic flared in her chest; an instinct to claw back to air. She forced herself to calm, invoking the mark’s power. A faint glow emanated from her chest, illuminating the water around her. Bubbles escaped her lips as she dove deeper, fingers grazing the altar’s rim. Twisted shapes drifted at the edge of her vision, ghostly hands reaching out, echoing the suffering of past queens. Nyra’s lungs burned, her vision blurring.

Her tears fell soundlessly into the water. Finally, Ember couldn’t take it anymore. Her vision went black as she lost consciousness, sinking slowly to the bottom of the crimson-stained fountain.

I wanna get married. I wanna have child. The girls. I crashed down with thud. My head spinning as I felt my liquid on my forehead, making it's way down to my cheeks. I open my eyes to see blur sky and a black figure above me. I heard a muffled screams of the men before black dots appear in front of me. The dots slowly grew larger in size as I slowly let it consume me. I finally close my eyes.
