No one was on my side. Siren was standing completely off to the side of the clearing with her group of Shadow Vipers bikers. Her thick arms were crossed over her leather chest, and she was watching the entire dramatic scene unfold with a highly satisfied, mocking smirk on her red lips. She was enjoying every single second of my pain.

Just as he arrived, he saw that his mate was halfway being pulled away through his portal by a siren. Sirens were female creatures, half bird and half woman with alluring voices, their power rested in their melodious voices. They could vocally make one fall under their spell and persuade them to do their bidding. Usually, they used dreams or hallucinations as a means to lure the individual out of consciousness so they would let down their guard. Only weaklings would fall under the spell of a siren, he was no weakling. Such couldn't be said for his fragile little human mate, who was now following him silently as they walked back to the house.

I can't get a good look at the siren's face, but its body is extremely muscular, built for battle, and a hundred percent male. A thousand shivers travel up my back. Unlike Hayden, the siren has slimy webbed fingers, long claws, pale skin seeming not to have seen any sunlight, and its tail is that of a shark. The monstrous creature screeches again, and I hold my breath when teeth, way longer than my forearms, almost grace my skin. A larger-than-life tongue flicks out, licking my cheek as if to taste my skin, and finally, my flight or fight instinct kicks in.

### The Hall of the Failed Versions Aris led me out of the hospital room and into a long, dimly lit corridor. The walls were lined with glass tanks, each one filled with a shimmering, viscous fluid. The bolt explodes with a purple energy that matches the same sound as thunder. The arm in which the siren caught the shaft rips half in an upright fashion. Their left eyes are blown off and their face, left side of their torso and legs are ripped in the same fashion. There body falls to the forest floor almost instantly dead but in that same moment, the other talking siren reacts just as fast. I said, turning my face to look at Daire’s big brown eyes. “It’s nice to meet you Cedar.” Daire put out a big hand. Cedar looked at it wearily. “It’s okay you don’t have to trust me yet. Trust is earned. I get that. You're a good man looking out for your sister.” Daire spoke gently to Cedar. I smiled and Cedars' shoulders relaxed a bit. I wondered if telepathy could suddenly work on him. Cedar yawned, his eyes were starting to droop. Daire lounged back. “So tired boy do you want to sleep out here with your sister and Me or do you want the big bed all to yourself?” Cedar’s tired face lit up.

Dante was obviously a nod to my favorite brother from the same mother. Valis and Mystra were the last ones to arrive at the meeting. It was to plan for the next feeding room where the siren would be present.
