Damon lowered his head to look at Mason and took the drawing from his hands. The picture showed a family of four—him, Nyla, Mason, and a little girl—standing under a bright blue sky with fluffy white clouds. Damon smiled and pointed to the little girl in the drawing. "Who's this?" "That's my little sister. I hope Mommy gives me a baby sister," Mason said earnestly. "What if it's a baby brother instead?" Damon asked. Mason paused, then nodded confidently. "If it's a brother, I'll protect him too."

Nicole. “Heidi…” my heart softened as I dropped to my knees beside her. “I’m gonna put them back, I promise. I just wanted mum to stay here for a while.” One of her drawings rested ont he table too, almost covered by mum’s scarf. I pulled it from under there. It wasn’t the best picture but I could tell it was two older women with a child in between them. One of the women’s hair was done with a yellow pencil while the other was black, the child had tiny dots around her head to imitate hair, but what they all had in common was the yellow circles hovering over their heads and the triangle wings.

Hope she’s not dating your boyfriend longer than you. Mickey poked me in the back. “Yeah… I mean it’s not that surprising.” “You made a new submission?” “Yeah, the other sketchbook didn’t feel like me at all,” “I thought it was great.” She countered. I remembered sitting anxiously on my bed while she went through those drawings with a grimace on her face. “It’ll do. I mean you could just write ‘sister in law of Pierce Blackwood and you’ll get in.” She had said crudely when she was done.

Changing his mood to a playful one, before approaching his boon friend's messy bed and dropping his body on it with a careless thump. Joshua sighed. "She seems like one sensible woman. Unlike the type of yours, are you maybe in love-" Joshua questioned when soon his voice was cut off by Christopher who faced him blankly with a speed of light. His expressions were strict and scary. "My sister-in-law she is!" Christopher growled out as Joshua widened his eyes being speechless for few seconds. "What?" Sister-in-law? Did he hear him correct? Joshua was taken aback by the straightforwardness for a minute or so.

She turned around and looked at me with wide eyes… Ooooooookay? “You named it…” “Cutsiah? Yes. I don’t see why.” Now I get it. I turned around, suddenly feeling a little conscious to be around her. This is what happens when you bring ‘FAMILY’ into something you held dear. They always find… A loud “ooooph” left my lips as she crushed her front to my back, hugging me from my behind. “ I knew it. I knew it that everyone was wrong about you. You loved your sister so much more than anything in this world. And if not…” She spun me in her hold and looked at me with teary eyes,

But now that I was minutes away from encountering him again, I couldn't help it. Being the oldest of three sisters, I probably knew him better than the other two. Briefly, I thought of my sisters. I was excited to see them, even if the reunion would be debased by the tumultuous relationship I had with my father. Sighing toward the window, the glass momentarily hazed over with condensation from my breath. I reached up and drew a six-pointed star made out of three infinity symbols. It was a symbol my sisters and I had come up with years ago to show our unity. Smiling at the symbol as it slowly faded, my thoughts returned to them.

Maybe she was going through a break up, or mourning a loved one. Andrew stood there for few more seconds, mesmerized by the sight of her. She was a work of art, irresistible. However, the next moment, it all turned ugly. She turned her head towards him, she saw him!!!! With the speed of light, Andrew dashed off and headed down the stairs, his heart racing in his chest. But just then he bumped into his sister unexpectedly at the foot of the stairs! “Drew?” She called in surprise. For a moment there, his heart stopped beating, he was sweating profusely.

Even though I should have been used to their blatant favoritism by now, my heart still throbbed with a dull ache. My parents had always given Rebecca preference over me since we were young. We were born only ten minutes apart, yet I was constantly reminded of my role as the older sister. I had lost count of how many times I had given in, from small things like my only toy to even boys we both liked. When I was little, I found a stray kitten and took care of it carefully. However, Rebecca snatched it away from me. That cat did not survive even one day before she killed it with her own hands.

He unfolded it with surprising care before holding it out with both hands. "Look." I took the drawing from him, already smiling before my eyes had even settled on the page. The drawing showed four figures standing side by side on a grassy ground, all holding hands beneath an enormous tree. And on the grass was a brown basket and what looked like a picnic blanket. I smiled immediately. "You drew us having a picnic." Rowan beamed and I pointed to the littlest person in the drawing. "And is that your baby sister?" He nodded without the slightest hesitation.

As if everything that had already happened wasn’t enough I had to gave him again at the celebratory buffet and I couldn’t decline the invite because it was my sister…. The next event was even bigger than the engagement party. A celebratory buffet my sister insisted on hosting, something about “bringing both families together properly.” It was elegant, controlled, perfect. Just like her. And somehow… I was there again. Dressed up, smiling when necessary, pretending everything was fine. Pretending I wasn’t falling apart inside, but I kept my distance this time.
