Alexander muttered. She was still laughing when they began watching the movie. It was so scary, but Sofia wasn't feeling a thing; she had no expression on her face as they watched. Halfway through the movie, she was yawning; the movie was not terrifying at all, and she wanted to change it out to a scarier one. But when she glanced at Alexander, she changed her mind. He had a terrifying look on his face, and he looked like he was going to jump if she poked him in the arm. She forgot about the movie and watched him; she watched every reaction he made with a smile on her face.

So no Scooby-Doo mysteries were solved here. "You're right." Drunko leaned into my space, specifically in the "your too close zone" as he chugged some drink that smelled like pure gasoline. He belched, obnoxiously loud and right in my face. The nerve of some people's children… "Hey, dude." Do not scissor-kick this dingus in the face, self, don't do it! "You mind easing back some? Trying to strip here." My complaint fell on dumb drunk deaf ears: "Hey you, elf chick, do some magic or something! Do a spell!"

Such a horrible sight overwhelmed the terrified young woman as she tried to escape from the fully emerged black skeleton. All around her, skeletons and beastly creatures arose from the black puddles. Malevolent dark energy cloaked their bodies. The skeleton's crimson eyes stared down at the frightened girl whose eyes were rimmed with tears. A cry of fear ready to escape her throat was cut short by a sword in the skeleton's hand. Slashing it down, the girl's blood soaked the streets, but it was soon absorbed by the sword the skeleton wielded in his hand.

Draco asked anxiously. But before Astrid had time to answer, her eyes widened, and her body convulsed. She screamed in pain in a shrill tone, and then her body was torn apart and transformed into a Skeleton Dragon with a dense aura of darkness. “Nooooooooooooo!” Draco screamed hysterically. The skeleton dragon roared ferociously and tore at the cobwebs that bound it. With a single move, the skeleton dragon landed on the red carpet, right in front of Draco, and charged fiercely.

He stands up and grabs something before returning to the room. I glance at him and I could tell right away that he wasn’t taking me seriously. “You know what? Just never mind, you’re right.” I say as I try to just blow it off as me acting nutty because of Halloween. “No, really. Let’s go.” He says as he walks to the door and motions for me to follow him. I stand up and start walking out deliberately slow, and say, “I was just drawing my brother and the room felt weird, so I asked if he was there with me. That’s when the skeleton moved.”

The bones stirred, animated by dark magic, and began to chase the fleeing elders. The elders’ screams echoed through the room as they ran in circles, desperately trying to evade the relentless skeleton. Ezra stood torn between helping his elders and restraining me from causing further chaos. He seemed unaware that his grip on my neck was tightening. My face turned purple from lack of air, but I refused to plead for release.

But tonight, exhaustion mixed with a restless heat low in her belly, making her shift uncomfortably. "Dory, still at it? The reindeer need their rest, and so do you." Santa's voice boomed from the doorway, warm and gravelly, like a hearth fire. At 50-something in appearance but timeless in spirit, Nicholas Claus filled the frame, broad-shouldered, belly rounded from centuries of cookies, his white beard trimmed neat, eyes twinkling with that knowing glint. I tried to cry out, but my throat was too raw, my voice lost in the agony. Deeper and deeper we went. Into the darkness. The room she dragged us into was something out of a nightmare. Bones—everywhere. Piles of them, scattered across the floor, some still wrapped in rotting flesh. Candles lined the walls, their flames casting long, stretching shadows that danced like living things. Strange tools lay on wooden tables—blades, hooks, rusted saws. The worst part? The bodies. Seven of them, pinned up against the walls like twisted trophies.

My nerves were getting a little too active as I focused on the picture. At first, I didn’t see anything unusual. There were the skeletons with what looked like tissue still decomposing. Their clothes were hung just as I remembered, with their jewelry still attached. However, when my eyes moved up, there was this shadow hovering just above one of the skeletons. It was hard to make out, but the longer I looked at it, the more the eyes looked just like my dad. “No…”
