Everything that inspires me ends up in one of my sketchbooks. On one hand, I'm excited to show my "lovely" boss some of my drawings because I'm proud of what I've put into each of my sketchbooks. On the other hand, I'm terrified of putting myself out there, of being judged. Art isn't for everyone. I started drawing mainly out of boredom. I was in that fangirl phase obsessed with Harry Potter, convinced that soon a owl would fly through my window to deliver my Hogwarts letter. I didn't know how to pass the time, so I decided to try drawing Hedwig, and that's when I discovered I was incredibly good at it.

FLORA’S POV I had searched the entire house for my sketchbook, but it seemed to have disappeared into thin air. Panic had slowly settled in my chest. I couldn’t afford to lose it—not now when Vicky was giving me a rare opportunity to showcase my talent. Over the years, sketching had been my solace, something I poured my heart into during those long, quiet hours at the Kensington estate, it was a quiet rebellion against a world that kept telling me to stay small. It was the one thing that belonged to me.

Seeing him out here in the middle of a massive crowd is undoubtedly the pinnacle of my week, but I don't focus the ink solely on his form; I make sure to trap the entire living landscape. I sketch in the wolves chasing the flying disc, the heavy oak branches swaying in the summer breeze, and the long, thin wisps of clouds drifting over the high-rise fortresses in the background. It feels almost like a hidden-target puzzle, but if my wolf had to brand the page, I'd name it Where is the Male Who Merely Stopped Time? I glance down at the corner of the paper, spotting his sharp profile in the lines, and a genuine smile breaks across my face. Right there. There he is.

I was about to leave when I caught sight of something. A sketchbook. What’s a dude like Croix doing with pencils? What kind of things does he draw? Of course he’s a tattoo artist but what things does he draw? I go to the desk and take the sketchbook in my hands. I turned the pages of the book admiring the cartoon figure, the houses, and the streets, among other things but at the last page of the sketchbook is a drawing of me...sleeping. My fingers brushed over the drawing, the naked collarbone and the bare thighs. Faint lead coated my fingertips. It was a recent drawing.

Chloe's POV The sketchbook was open on the kitchen table and the pencils were laid out in order from 6H to 8B because that was the way Léo had arranged them on the first day he sat down next to her with his own sketchbook. The 6H made light lines. The 8B made dark lines. Most of the drawing happened in the middle. She used the 4B for almost everything because it didn't smudge when you pressed hard.

It is hard to chew it as I try my best to smile innocently at Sky who sighs and pokes my full cheeks, commenting that I look like a chipmunk. “Option one from about two hundred and fifty years ago, the Harry Potter Series.” Lia chimes in, motioning the pile of seven movie sitting on the edge of the coffee table. I laugh, watching as Lia begins to take the first movie – Harry Potter and the Philosopher Stone. I movie full of magic and a revolution at the end. Seems fitting to what I am dealing with right now. “What the other option?” Sky asks, wrapping his arm around my shoulder and pressing a kiss on my forehead.

(Harper’s POV) “I’m sorry, what now?” I stared at Harry, dumbfounded. He flicked through some more pages of the book and then turned it to face me. I apprehensively looked down at the book. The page was titled “Bloodline” and there was a picture of a wicked-looking blade down one side. The writing was a little faded and handwritten, but despite all that, it felt so familiar and I could read it, like it was something I had read a thousand times before.

Because inside— God. Wasn't just her sketchbook. Fair. There were dozens of things. Reasonable honestly. Dozens. God. Hair clips. Fair. Toys. Reasonable. Books. God. Shells. Fair. Spoons. Reasonable honestly. An entire collection. God. Peanut's Collection. Fair. Version 2. Reasonable. The upgraded edition. God. Then Lily spotted her sketchbook. Fair. Perfectly safe. Reasonable. Completely untouched.

So that means getting going now. Having a blank page for a commission, and getting started on it, that’s two different things. After wasting most of my free period staring at a large white rectangle, I give up and start doodling in a sketchpad instead. Sketches of faces, mostly. The Pack. Imogen. Mom. The college staff. My tutor, Mrs Bird, as a Sergeant Major in a feathery rainbow uniform, strutting around bellowing orders. Jade as a crow, teaching crow martial arts to a bunch of baby crows. Mary in a Cinderella ball gown. Reese as a tiger. Tom as a warrior fairy, with dragonfly wings and a silver rapier.

I glanced at a few of the books, some fantasy novels and a small sketch pad. I opened the sketch pad and looked through it, she was good. Really good. The scenes were mostly outdoors. Forests, waterfalls, mountains. All done with such grace and precision. Each more lovely and realistic than the last. I noticed at the bottom there was a J written as beautifully as the drawings themselves. I got to the last page and there was a drawing of a moon. Bright and beautiful in the sky but there was something else to it. The drawing felt sad. “What the hell.” I snapped as I lifted my hand and wiped a tear from my cheek.
