He said and I swallowed, wondering what he did to her.

The light was blinding, white-hot, and when it faded, there was nothing left but a pile of scorched silk. The other two witches snarled, their forms shifting into something larger, more solid. Their fingers lengthened into claws, their mouths stretched wide, showing rows of needle teeth. “You’ll die for that,” the lead witch hissed. “Maybe,” Kael said. He looked at Kaden, still pinned by the roots. “But not before I free them.”

We’re a network witches, wolves, humans, vampires.” Dr. Rhodes smiled slightly. “We’ve been watching you since you contacted my clinic.”
