“Thank you, Emma.” The other cubs crowded around, not wanting to be left out. Each one had their own masterpiece to share. Tommy had drawn me training with the young warriors, complete with little speech bubbles saying “Be stronger!” and “You can do it!” Lisa's picture showed the whole pack running together under a full moon. And little Max, only four years old, had created what he proudly declared was just me, Kane, and Zane smiling — though it mostly looked like three happy blobs. Emma watched from the doorway, her eyes soft. More footsteps approached, and the Beta pair appeared with fresh clothes and… was that chocolate chip pancakes?

I don’t need to question what Posey might be seeing because my guess would be the entire universe in that little girl's hand. She blinks, smiling at Skye, and says, “Do you like pretty things?” Skye nods. “Do you want me to make you a bracelet like Aris has? See these?” She takes Aris’s wrist and drags him a step closer. “I can make one that you can hang charms from.”

A barrier? “She is too powerful, has there been any other body parts?” I press a hand against my mouth. There was body parts. Gosh is my dream coming true? I just saw a brown wolf run and sit next to Cole. “No but I think we should be on guard tonight”

Do you want it?" He shook the mechanical arm, which gleamed with a cold, eerie blue glow. "But you'll become a monster for me to control and study." I propped myself up, my gaze shifting between the pile of rotting flesh and the mechanical arm. Skylar, who had softened for love, was already dead in that cold sea.

Little Osiris is huddled in his mother's arms, trying to hide his little face from the angry mob threatening to kill them. "I tell you what," the Alpha finally smirks. "I will give you a head start." Skye doesn't need to be told twice. She takes off, running toward the forest. As she runs, her body morphs and shifts. I try to keep up with her, but she is too fast. The last I see is a golden lycan running away from the mob. Osiris's little face is peering over her shoulder, watching his home fade into the distance.
