In fact I felt one of the happiest I had ever felt in my entire life. Tyler had been gone for three days on urgent pack business at the border, leaving me in the quiet, steady care of Skylar. And "care" was an understatement. I sat in the back of the lecture hall, taking notes on the Great Lunar History, but my pen hadn't moved in ten minutes. My eyes were locked on Skylar. He stood at the podium, his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, revealing the strong, corded muscles of his forearms as he gestured toward a map. He looked every bit the polished professor, but every few minutes, his emerald eyes would drift from the class and lock onto mine.

- The hostess announced. Majority lingered, but i slipped out, hoping to have a breathe of fresh air. I sat on a wooden bench, feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin. The breeze carried a faint scent of lavender, while i stared at the scenic, bright skies. My phone trilled, the familiar ringtone catching my attention. "Hello....?" - I picked, sparing no time to glance at the caller id. "Selene, my hunch was right!!." - Rachel spoke, her voice filled with excitement and disdain. "That Shawn guy is a shady piece of work, right now... I've got a whole load of crap on him ."

He got there in the end and Skye was now living with him on Stella territory. "That's different. Skye is a mere mortal," he replied. "Don't you think that if it was possible to kill your mate, somebody would have done it by now? He has enough enemies and there's been enough attempts. I'm telling you, that man is immortal." I smiled. "I suppose you're right," I replied. "As always."

Ethan said. Steve thought he was exaggerating and smack his head. “Stop being overdramatic and spill the beans.” “Brother, don’t take it easy, it's really shocking. I bet you won’t believe it.” “Are you going to bring it on, or shall I leave.” “I have confirmed the news, our Sky is Skylar Harrison, whom you are searching desperately.” “Ethan, this is my last warning to you, don’t joke with me especially about Sky,” Steve said.

A small smile played across my lips as deep down I knew no matter how much I irritate Chris, he would never leave my side. "Ahem ahem," I signalled him to look up from his phone. Finally, he looked at me but in a surprising way, like his eyes were going to pop out anytime. "Skylar Carter, is that you?" "Of course it's me, Chris." I rolled my eyes. "You are looking very gorgeous. I seriously didn't know that two and a half-hour of waiting could give such a splendid result" A compliment from Chris! This just indicated that really I had done a good job.

I struggled to hold on. “Skye, help!” he cried out in utter panic, thrashing about, trying to gain a foothold. Cold sweat spread over my skin. My hands began to slip. “Stop fighting!” I yelled. “I can’t…get… Skye!” “Relax your body, Dresna!” My instruction penetrated his mind. I felt the pressure slacken. “Now secure a hand-hold.” My mind took control of his. “Use your laser.” Dresna gradually began to concentrate. I felt confident enough to glance down to see him lasering out a new hand-hold and securing himself. “Now relax,” I said out loud.

There was a slightly worried look in my eyes. "So... how's Skylar?" My other cousin, Sophia smiled. I glarred at her, how did she know? "Oh come on Ben. We all know, you can't keep your eyes off her and that first night when the vampire was talking to her you would have left her as soon as he was gone but you didn't you stayed with her for hours." Sophia had a smug look on her face, as if she were proud to be the first one to crack it. "You took her letter?" Grayson asked raising an eyebrow once he had finished reading it. "It seems a bit personal, what are you asking me to do?" He questioned.

I asked her. "She was his ex. That woman who betrayed him, who cheated on him over his back sleeping with Gered when she was in a relationship with my brother," Skylar said, looking down at the floor. Adrian used to be madly in love with her. You know what they say when a Campbell falls, they fall so hard and my brother also fell so hard for that gold digger woman," she said heavily while her hands clenched into fists as she looked at the floor.

Placing the phone on the table, Lily got back to Skyla and asked instantly, "But why?" Skyla grew teary and said, "Because she is my enemy!" Lily squinted her eyes in confusion and Skyla decided to clear the air. She said after gulping, "All this while I blindly trusted Kayla! I thought she loved me and always protected me but I was wrong!" Skyla couldn't hold her tears and started sobbing. Lily had tears brimming in her eyes seeing a helpless Skyla and rubbed her back. She stopped when Skyla continued, "My very own blood sister is my enemy. She is the one who decided to sell me off for one night to some random stranger!"

Alex cleared her confusion and Stacy quickly shift her gaze to Skylar Her gaze caught when Skylar shaked "She truly is" Stacy whispered in horror Skylar was already sweating she shakes when Alex said she's awake and Stacy caught Skylar still closed her eyes she can't bear to look at them she might collapse with fear "What are we gonna do now?" Stacy looked at Alex with anticipation Alex looked at Skylar on the bed and smile "You can hear us right?" All Alex got was silence Alex sighed and moved closer He removed the oxygen machine and Skylar shot her eyes open
