It was like those horror movie scenes where the possessed person turns their head in an unnatural speed to a super creepy angle that causes their hair behind your neck to rise. I was surprised I didn't hear a loud crack from her. I raised my hands up in surrender as quickly as she had turned her head to stab me with her glare before she actually murders me. Anyone who knows Casey knows not to mess with her book collection, unless they want to end up dead in a ditch in the middle of nowhere. That girl does not joke about her books. When she finally secured her book and redirected her focus back to it instead of me, I knew I wouldn't have to worry about questions being rained down on me.

Observing it he quirked a questioning brow at the title. Murderous case files, a thriller mystery book he had read years ago. Mainly consisting of gore and graphic details of killing he had dropped it, never even getting past the first chapter. If he recalled the very first sentence described a horrific scene of a man who had cut his wife's throat. Many would have stopped reading at the very first scene yet for some reason this woman was so intrigued with the book that she had nearly forgotten she was conversing with me. How interesting. The more I learn about her the more she seems to shock me.

Silas’s POV The rain over Queens was heavy, black, and smelled like burning rubber. I didn't use a gun. A gun is too clean. It leaves too much distance between the hunter and the prey. When someone takes what belongs to the Schmidt family—when someone puts their filthy hands on my little princess—I want to feel their bones break. I want to feel the exact moment the light leaves their eyes. They call me the Butcher of Berlin. New York thought they had seen monsters before we arrived. They had no fucking idea.

One of the men grabs me by the jacket and I let it slip off before grabbing the ends and twisted it around his neck and snapping it. I grab the knives on my back and in the distance, I hear vehicles closing in. If it’s more rogues, I will have to figure out what I’m dealing with, but I finish the two in front of me. When I am done stabbing the last rogue in the heart and feeling his blood spray me. I stood up and I looked to my car. Mia is staring out the window in complete shock. Fuck. I told her to stay down. Now she witnessed my inner demon. From behind me, I hear, “Mojito?”

Vera asked as she pointed at my computer screen. I followed the line of her finger and realized that she had pulled up the page that I had intentionally hidden earlier. There was a photo of a pup on the screen. He looked to be about three years old. His eyes were closed, his long lashes casting shadows down his cheeks. His serene expression made it look like he was just sleeping. "Pup: Ryan Barrington. Father: Felix Barrington. Mother: Wendy Snow. Note: Deregistered a year ago." My colleagues immediately fell silent. They looked at me carefully and asked, "It's just a coincidence that this she-wolf has the same name as you, huh?"

Silas begins, but suddenly his words are cut short as something pierces through the floor-length window, landing on his chest as shards of glass from the window rain over the floor and even onto the street below, causing people to scream. I don't seem to understand what's happening until I see the blood pumping out of his chest as Silas Moretti falls to the ground, dead. As if snapped out of their daze, everyone in the room screams and begins to scamper around in fear. Reality crashes through me then—Silas Moretti has been assassinated. That's when chaos takes over. Gunfire opens between my men and Silas's. Tbc.

I go the book I am currently reading, it is murder mystery/ thriller, titled ‘As good as dead’ and it is very interesting and intriguing. It was about a girl about to go to college, she is Blake’s age and she had spent the past two years solving murder cases and now she is clearly traumatized since in the last book, she had a guy die in her arms. I am not far in, I just started it on the plane and I have had much time to finish the book.

Not when I finally have a chance to escape. I've barely made it into the tree line when there's a huge boom that rattles the trees. I glance over my shoulder and see a woman holding a wand, the two Silver Hunters motionless at her feet. A werewolf emerges from the house, saliva and blood dripping from his fangs. A shiver runs through me, but I know that we can stop running. These two just killed the Silver Hunters. Whoever they are, that makes them friends of mine. "Stop!" I yell down the street. "Come back!"

He thought I was being utterly unreasonable, so I walked out of the house. Every time we argued, I would give him the cold shoulder for several days. He assumed I was doing the same thing this time. Alas, he didn't know that I was dead. Just moments ago, to help Gina avoid paying for her crime, he sliced me up, emptied my organs, and turned them into specimens! … To remove all evidence of the crime from the laboratory, Nathan used a special chemical reagent to clean the entire place. Soon, the laboratory looked as good as new. It was as if nothing had ever happened.
